There are Women out there who look for guys like us, they seem to always seek us out. To make sure they have found us they will always tell us a soft story, testing our sympathetic responses then go on to tell us the kind of person they are before we even ask. Finally to put last remaining nail in the coffin, they tell us to make promises before we even really know them, a promise they themselves would never keep. There are clues, these women are quick to agree and say anything you like that they themselves love and passions in every respect are set in your favour, all this is easy to test yet difficult to us kind of guys, so we need to be more aware as these women are driven, ego mad and have only one real love in life depicted in this picture “The Worship of Mammon by Evelyn De Morgan” …need I say more and yes it did happen to me !

Here's a great quote from a terrific Spaghetti Western, Blindman, starring Tony Anthony and Ringo Starr, "When a Woman's got you by your short and curly, you're done, finished !"

When I first joined Flickr, I met Richard (a.k.a. Shashamane) I loved his photography and his always funny comments. We've shared many laughs together here on Flickr

along with our friend Sosij.

After not seeing Richard on Flickr for the past few weeks, I became concerned and sent him an email. A few days passed before I received a response and concern grew more as I know he visits Georgia and it is being heavily bombed at this time.

I was happy to get an email from him yesterday. He was in Georgia but had been evacuated to a safe location Phew!!! :o) He told me of the bombings as he waited in a bus station. I can't imagine the fear of being in such a place.

Richard hopes to be back home in the UK this weekend. Please help me wish him a safe return.

Also, take a moment to check out his set of photos taken in Georgia. They are incredible photos.....

Here's a better overview of the largest seasonal area in the store. Not a bad selection really for such a tiny Fred's!

Fred's, 1988?-built, Hwy. 70 near Green Lee St., Arlington TN

This impressive monument commemorates the Fallen of the old counties of Cumberland and Westmorland. The insignia on the front are those of the Royal Navy, the Army, the Royal Air Force, and the medical services. The insignia on the back are those of the Cumberland Artillery, the Border Regiment, and the Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry. Its panels now refer to the fallen of both the First and Second World Wars.

It was dedicated on 25th May 1922, and unveiled by the Earl of Lonsdale. Schools and workplaces released pupils and employees to enable them to attend. It is believed the dedication ceremony was attended by 25,000 people.

The structure is of local Pink Shap Granite and was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer. It is 40 feet high and was constructed at a cost £5,000.

The parkland in which it stands was the initiative of the Carlisle Citizen’s League, a charitable organisation founded in 1914 by the then acting Mayor of Carlisle, Sir Benjamin Scott. The League (which provided considerable aid to ex-service personnel) raised, through public subscription, the sum of £11,500, sufficient to purchase the area now known as Rickerby Park.

When a decision was made to erect a memorial to those of the two counties of Cumberland and Westmorland who had made the Supreme Sacrifice in The Great War this site, in Rickerby Park, was chosen.

The result was the imposing Cenotaph, the Empty Tomb you see here. This was the focus of the annual 11am Act of Remembrance until the City Centre Cenotaph in the Greenmarket was dedicated in 1990. For some years the commemoration at the more accessible City memorial drew attention away from this.

However in recent times the local branch of The Royal British Legion has, on each Remembrance Sunday, hosted an afternoon Act of Commemoration here, with greater and greater numbers attending each year.

The Park also has a Memorial Bridge and a Memorial Garden, both just a short walk from the Cenotaph. The bridge provides a pedestrian and cycle link to the east of the city. It has an impressive single span of 200 feet and was constructed in 1922 by local craftsmen from around 100 tons of steel. It crosses where the rivers Petteril and Eden converge. It was dedicated at the same time as the Cenotaph.

The Garden, Memorial 12 in this series, is laid out to a formal design and with a dedication to the Fallen. It is actually an entrance to the Park from the northern end of the Eden Bridge. The Garden was also provided through the efforts of the Carlisle Citizen’s League.

"Think well of us, oh land for which we fell. May all that's well with Britain still go well. Keep her bright banners free from spot or stain. Lest we should dream that we may die in vain"!

Rickerby Park is a public open space in Carlisle, Cumbria on the banks of the River Eden. The parkland is dotted with mature trees, beneath which cattle and sheep graze the sweet pasture grasses. A riverbank path follows the sweeping bends of the Eden and, by crossing the Memorial Bridge, you can complete a circular walk back to the city centre on the opposite bank. Nearby is Rickerby Hall and the village of Rickerby.

The manor of Rickerby has been owned by a number of families, specifically the Tilliols, Rickerbys, Pickerings, Westons, Musgraves, Studholmes, Gilpins, Richardsons, and Grahams.

In the 19th century it was owned by the banker George Head Head. In 1876, George Head Head died and Miles MacInnes, a justice of the Peace, succeeded to the 940 acres of Rickerby where he owned all the land. In 1914 the estate was broken up and sold off up by the trustees of the MacInnes estate.

In 1920 the Citizens League purchased the area known today as Rickerby Park for £11,500. In a joint scheme with the Corporation (now Carlisle City Council), Rickerby Park was dedicated as a memorial to the fallen of the Great War of 1914-1918. The Memorial Bridge, from St Aidans Road was erected along with the Memorial Cenotaph.

On 25 May 1922, Rickerby Park was formally opened and handed over to the City of Carlisle for the benefit of the public.

Also to Tanya my 1sy Blonde Model from Wales; Uk.

When I met Tanya in Swansea; she was 18, with nature Blonde hair & the figure above. When photograpying Body Art; one must be very picky in selecting the model.

That is the word I learn from Max Factor - Asia Pacific Regional Manager Bob in the late 60's When I was teenager.

Bob use to share his knowledge about picking Model for Make Up & Bikinis shot from the agencies those day with my Brother in Law Rodney. He said, a model skin must be flawless. Any wound mark; cuts; tatoos he would not accept them.

In the 60's it is difficult to get model not to say about the skin. Those baby boomers normally with the wound marks due to the modquitos & frys' .. because the air quality is not so good afre the 2nd world war. Once you attacked by mosquitos then the piles would happen, then the frys' would stop on the wounds; that late when it heal it left the marks on the skin.

Only until late 70's the enironments issues are getting better, & then the people skin quality is better.

Please note that unless model is for Glamour shot, then a full figure model would be choosen, otherwise for the fashion shot, model would normally not having big breast & tshe must be slim enough to fit the fashion on assignment.

I would be more particular for the model for the nude shot, especially for the artsy nude model.

Looking at the above, you can see that her skin & skin tone are of excellent condition. I really love the contour of this.

This image also dedicated to Tam@Moscow; e10, Billy Warhol Claus Klima for encouragement in Body Imaging Art.

Thank you for your visit & support.

I appreciate it....

Piarist Church in the background.

After the plague of 1740-41, in the hope of protection from further diseases, the city dedicated a column to the Trinity and raised a chapel named after Saint Rókus beside the cemetery where the victims of the plague were buried. In 1745 the Piarist Church was consecrated.

Settlement in Vác dating as far back as the Roman Empire has been found.

Bishops from the diocese were influential within the Kingdom of Hungary, with many serving as chancellors or later becoming archbishops.

The town was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1541. During the Habsburg Monarchy's wars against the Ottomans, the Austrians won victories against the Turks at Vác in 1597 and in 1684.

During the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-49, the Honvédség routed the Austrian forces stationed in the city after a major battle (April 10, 1849); the Second Battle of Vác ended in Russian victory (July 17).

Today I want to share with you a spectacular photo of a sunset with mountains. In the image, the sky is painted with warm tones of orange and gold as the sun slowly disappears. What's most impressive is how the mountains look: their silhouettes stand out clearly against the sky, revealing every detail of their contours. The mountain ranges line up majestically, one behind the other, creating a sense of depth and grandeur. Each mountain is perfectly distinguished, from the base to the summit, capturing the natural beauty of the landscape. The clarity with which the mountains are seen, even in the distance, is truly astonishing. The contrast between the dark mountains and the sky illuminated by the sunset further enhances the magnificence of the scene. It's a moment of serenity and wonder, where nature shows its splendor in its fullest expression. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed capturing it, and in the company of my inseparable Westy named Sury. Every time I took out the camera and tripod, my little dog would fill with excitement. Her eyes would sparkle, and she would start jumping around me, wagging her tail with contagious energy. She knew it was time to accompany me to take photos and couldn't contain her joy. Her enthusiasm turned our photography sessions into a fun adventure, as she was always ready to explore with me while we captured special moments together." I miss her so much...............

X Fastest shot on to flickr ...took this shot about 20 minutes ago. I have been trying to catch this family who nest in a tree in my garden for a few days.....success. It’s a male blackbird and two chicks. I read up on blackbirds and apparently the male bird will feed the young for a long time, even longer than the female. It’s amusing as the chicks are almost as large as their father. The slight green blur on the left is a lily leaf I was hiding behind. I did have to alter the exposure level on the Raw shot using NX shame it would have been nice to have a SOOC shot but not this time

forgot to mention when I was bragging about Saxon the other day about how we've learnt to drop straight.

At first in class it wasn't that important, I was just happy that he was going into position and staying there, and we weren't "losing any points" for him rolling over on his hip.

Then it came up that it "should" be sphinx-like. I spent a week, equating to about 2 dedicated sessions rewarding the "correct" drop, straightening when he rolled in the longer stays and he's now good with it, a drop now means a straight drop :-)

I guess this may be more a comment on me than him, but I hadn't bothered trying to fix this before because a) I didn't think it was that important; and b) I thought it was going to be difficult to accomplish.

I'm glad I tried :-)

Dedicated to Saint Peter and located on the path to Compostela (and therefore a UNESCO World Heritage site), the Benedictine abbey of Moissac was founded in the 700s. According to legend, it was founded even earlier, in 506, by the freshly converted Clovis, King of the Franks, but there is no historical evidence that this ever happened. Affiliated to Cluny from 1047, it became the most powerful monastery of southwestern France and numbered over 1,000 monks —most likely including lay brothers, though.

The most famous parts that survive today are the stunning tympanum, the iconic statue of Saint Jeremy and the Year 1100 cloister. All of those are masterpieces of Romanesque art and known worldwide.

The abbey was on the very first list of Historic Landmarks in 1840.

The capitals use a very specific outline shape in the cloister of Moissac. This is another very well known that depicts the crucifixion of Saint Peter, upside down. As you can see, all the faces have been hacked away by barbarians, whether they be Protestants or self-appointed “revolutionaries”...

To celebrate its 550th anniversary Magdalen College, Oxford has commissioned the Turner Prize-winning artist Mark Wallinger to create his first-ever dedicated permanent artwork.

Two years in development, the sculpture Y was unveiled on St Mary Magdalen Day 2008. William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester founded Magdalen College in 1458. It is one of the best-known colleges in the University of Oxford and is known internationally for its high academic standing.

The College has many fine buildings. The Cloisters, Chapel, Founder’s Tower and Hall were built in the Gothic style in the later part of the 15th century. The Great Tower, a pictorial symbol of Oxford, is famous for the May Day event when the College choir sings an ancient hymn at dawn. The Georgian New Buildings, which blend into the College Gardens and grounds, were completed in 1733. The buildings sit amid a hundred acres of lawns, woodlands and riverside walks, which are publicly accessible, and there is a deer herd that has been in existence for over 300 years.

Addison’s Walk, named after the great essayist of the 18th century and father of English journalism, is about a mile in length and goes by the River Cherwell around a great water meadow. Beyond the end of Addison’s Walk is a tranquil field known as Bat Willow Meadow, which is where the new commission is sited. Maps of the grounds of Magdalen College are available from the Porters’ Lodge or they can be downloaded from the Magdalen website.

Over the past twenty years Mark Wallinger has established an international reputation with major solo exhibitions in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Val-de-Marne, Frankfurt, Aarau, Basel, Milan, New York and Chicago.

His work encompasses a wide range of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, video and installation, and it takes art history, mythology, religion, politics, national identity and popular culture as its subject matter. Wallinger studied at Chelsea School of Art in 2001, and in Goldsmiths' College. He exhibited in Young British Artists II at the Saatchi Collection in 1993 and at the Royal Academy of Art's Sensation exhibition in 1997.

His Time and relative dimensions in space derived from a residency and was shown at Oxford University Museum of Natural History in 2001 and in the same year he represented Britain in the 49th Venice Biennale. The artist is best known for Ecce Homo, a life-size sculpture of Jesus Christ which inaugurated the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in 1999, and State Britain, his 2007 re-creation at Tate Britain of Brian Haw's protest display outside parliament. He was a Turner Prize nominee in 1995 and won the award in 2007, and he is one of five internationally acclaimed artists who have been commissioned to produce proposals for the Ebbsfleet Landmark Project, which will be one of the biggest artworks in the United Kingdom.
