The Princess Theatre was Hopkinsville’s first theater dedicated solely to moving pictures. Located on the south side East Ninth Street between Main and Virginia streets, the 600-seat theater opened on November 27, 1911 with the original name of the Photoplay Palace. The Princess closed and reopened a number of times between its first movie in 1911 to its last in 1972. Following a destructive fire in 1942, the structure was rebuilt with the Art Deco facade that graces East Ninth Street to this day (as seen in the photograph above).

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Dedicated to all those who lost a childhood friend or a childhood to war. For all those who think war is the answer, they should remember that there is a world that exists in every life that is destroyed by war.
I processed this photo of my son and his friend from our weekend desert trip and it immediately took me back to my days of playing with my best childhood friend in the dirt lots of Afghanistan. Then came the Soviet Union war and my family, after years of living in that war zone had to leave. Unfortunately I lost a childhood during those many years of war and my best childhood friend.
When I was younger, I buried all the emotions, but unfortunately mid life has forced me to reflect. I think that on the subject of war, humanity needs some deep and honest reflecting and thinking.

The Monumen Nasional (or Tugu Monas, the National Monument tower) is a 450 ft (137 m) tall tower in Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia's Independence. Its construction began in 1961 under Sukarno and was not finished until 1975 under Suharto. It is topped by a 14.5 tonnes flame-shaped bronze plated in 35 kg (1,125 troy ounces) of gold.
Visitors can take a lift up to a platform with a good view of Medan Merdeka Park, Istiqlal Mosque and the city, if it is not too foggy. Inside the base of the monument is an exhibition on the country's Declaration of Independence and several dioramas showing the history of Indonesia (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Dedicated to Venus, the Roman goddess of love, the Pavilion is located on the Island of Love. Washed by the waters of the White Lake on its three sides, this relatively small structure was designed by Vincenzo Brenna. It was modelled on the pavilion found on Prince de Conde’s estate at Chantilly, France. During his tour of Europe, the Grand Duke Pavel Petrovich enjoyed the pavilion and gave instructions to erect a similar one in his favourite Gatchina. In 1791, canals were dug out and another two years were spent erecting and decorating the pavilion. Visitors reached the Pavilion by boat and entered a spacious hall after climbing steps and passing through huge, glazed doors. The interior featured fountains, wall paintings in the grisaille technique, and an enormous ceiling painting, The Triumph of Venus, painted by Johann Jacob Mettenleiter in 1797.

On a side note this was taken at physical therapy where I get these pretty trippy electrical shock treatment thingys on my back which actually seem to be helping it and this is the service bell they leave in case I need anything ! Sometimes I'm tempted to ring it just for fun.....!! bahaha
A crop to actual pixels without any downsizing, and its head is not within the range of acceptable focus,l but this one is not about technical quality. For me it is the subject matter, and I thought that this pollen covered bee was just so cool. At this time of year with evenings getting cool, I have seen bees stay put overnight instead of returning to the colony, and I suspect that this is the situation here.
