Lots to do this for the remains of this week and into next! Contracts to sign, visits to Suffolk, being a Taxi-service getting Abbey home from Bath, getting Phoebe back and forth to her Dogs Trust training, packing and decluttering boot fairs. amongst this only two big walks to look forward too, shame, but busy times.

About six years ago we designed and planted a wildlife garden to encourage a haven for wildlife, if the weather improved there maybe some photos "From the garden!" We shall see how things pan out! The move to Suffolk, all guns firing and so exciting!

it may not "seem" like it,but i have truly decluttered lol..

so i decided to do the spring cure again this year. while i am fairly happy with the layout and decoration of my apartment, i can always use a kick in the rear to do some deep cleaning and decluttering. however, this week was week one and i didn't do anything! eep! i hope to get on track later today and combine weeks one & two over the coming days. wish me luck!

For Sliders Sunday ~

All visit, comments, notes and fave are very much appreciated!

This will be my last post for a while.......due to unforeseen circumstances I am being forced to take a flickr break......the fist one since I joined flickr in 2008!

I didn't just want to disappear of the face of the earth without giving my dear friends and contacts an explanation as to why I'm not around.

I will be however, popping in to visit your streams and comment/favouring whenever possible......just haven't got the time to post my own images!

Not sure how long the break will be.......hopefully not long at all because I will miss you all!

To all my flickr contacts and friends...please don't forget me....I won't forget you! x

When I was a little girl, the "charm bracelet" was a very popular accessory. Charms were given at special occasions. I can barely still fit this bracelet on my wrist (luckily I have really small wrists). This is probably the equivalent to a "10 things" for my childhood.

I am posting it for the No Flower Challenge Group I host. This weeks challenge is to post a picture of something PRICELESS to you; something that its sentimental value greatly outweighs the actual monetary worth of the object.

I hope that it will also work for Ms. Cheeky's Week 2 Assignment to focus on the decluttering of a photograph. The background I used here was a hardbound book, placed on a shelf under a window for natural light.

My 25th secret is this: I have a very unhealthy fixation / obsession with journals and notebooks.

Recently, as you may note from my day 232 I've been decluttering my bedroom. I have come to realise I have more notebooks and journals than a stationery store [well, or nearly].

Sure my fixations aren't normal, as shown on day 221, but no fixations are normal, surely?

I have spent the majority of my life marveling at new note books and journals. And hours debating about which to buy. Sometimes I go crazy. Especially during the "Sales" time.

Loads aren't used, mainly because I don't want to ruin them. But then I love love LOVE the feeling of starting a new notebook :) hence why loads of these notebooks I have started, yet have not finished!!!! about 5 pages in and I've forgotten about them!

Read the notes. Some were given to me. Some were sale purchases. Some I just had to buy. Some are brand new (too good, and I don't want to ruin them and use them!) and some are full of words! Go read the notes!

For the rest of this month of May, I have decided to take this opportunity to do the

30 SECRETS IN 30 DAYS challenge! I will tell you my secrets. Day-by-day :) Ok, some may seem like facts, but they're still things not many people know about, thus qualifying them to BE secrets. Heh.

...decluttering - so time consuming. Lots of Blythe clothes up on E*ay right now......

I spent most of the day decluttering, dusting, cleaning, reorganizing my creative space, it's almost done now. Then I suddenly felt the urge to add happy lights.

happy lights .... checked.

And re-posting my favorite Mommy Quote:

"Motherhood brings as much joy as ever, but it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow too. Nothing else ever will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality especially while you struggle to keep your own." -- Marguerite Kelly and Elia Parsons

Haven't had much inspiration to take photos lately. The energy has been in organizing, cleaning, decluttering...getting the family routines together. The results are very encouraging and I am all happy-happy about it. There's nothing like having a household home having rhythm and rhyme. (and yes, clean helps, too.) Everything else pales in comparison. Yes, even one's flickr addiction. :p No, no, I haven't forgotten about flickr friends and family. Just a little hiatus from this hibernating mama...

And OH!OH!OH! Spring is here in Toronto! Yes, yes, yes!!! Maybe that will bring the photo-bug back a-bitin'!

Not how I wanted to start the photo year for the boys, but it's raining outside, the dogs are soggy, and the "studio" is still cluttered from decluttering.

I had hoped to get the "studio" back in order for today's shoot - but as the dogs keep running outside to get wet, there isn't much point. Dirty paws and photo mat don't go well together.

So here's Riley, waiting impatiently for me to open the slider (again) so he can go outside and get wet (again).

Decluttered my mantel for spring and made a twiggy heart display.

As a food photographer I usually spend much of my time taking pictures in restaurants however currently there are very few opportunities to take my usual photographs! In my case things are all the more acute in that I have to endure my own personal 3 month lockdown following open heart surgery at the start of March. So, what to photograph? I could take some shots of my culinary creations and I may in the end be reduced to that but for now I thought that I would start sharing some of the details of my kitchen. You will quickly begin to realise that I am not an advocate of decluttering and instead positively revel in clutter with each piece having its own story and frequently a fishy or a Portuguese theme and sometimes both as is the case here - cans of sardines mounted in a deep IKEA picture frame.

Yesterday the estate agent rang... can a viewer come tomorrow at 4pm? Errrr, yes ok (thinking oh bloody hell, how much cleaning have I got to do, plus a mass of school work?)

So got up early to start on the cleaning and decluttering..... and just plain depigging of my son's room (that he was supposed to do!) Packed away all my photographic gear from the 'studio', made everything clean and shiny...even ate in the car, so I didn't stink the house out !

Five and a half hours later... glittering shiny bits, nice smells, cats banned to outside and the garage.... all for a no show !!!!!!

Now the difficult job of trying to figure out where I have hidden stuff !!

Quick snapshot (with flash) of kitchen table at the moment.

21 February - A Doll A Day 2022

In the process of decluttering, I found this piece of envelope art from my dad (unsent, intended recipient masked off).

Blog post "Decluttering the Devices" here: wp.me/p4zFT8-8yn

My bookcase that's holding some of my favorite books, dvds and photos.

I often wonder if I should declutter this space but I've reread all the books, watched the dvds again, and love the photos. So I guess, at least for the time being, no decluttering of this bookcase will take place.

Yesterday I did something I've wanted to do for a very long time: installed grow lights. Such a simple thing, but I guess it was actually on my bucket list. More precisely, I've wanted to be able to grow some food year round. In this part of the world, the winter segment requires grow lights indoors.

We had room in the bottom of this set of shelves that has served as a houseplant stand in the living room window for years, but they became a repository for empty pots and garden tools, which properly belong in the basement. So I decluttered and cleaned, then fastened two strips of LED grow lights above the bottom shelf. When the budget allows, I'll install more above the second shelf, which also receives enough direct sunlight under this southwest window. I plan to grow leafy greens including lettuce, arugula, and basil. For now some succulents can enjoy the elbow room.

Project 365, 2022 Edition: Day 36/365

Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.

I found this old owl in a thrift store over 25 years ago. Purchased it for $1. I've decluttered my house a lot and this owl always makes the cut to stay as a keeper in my house. I really don't know why because it's not like it's gorgeous, but I seem to have a sentimental attachment to it. Perhaps it reminds me of my early professional days just starting out in my career and the thrift store I used to visit during my lunch breaks.

The white/grey/black colour scheme happened by accident!

The desk is a Fredrik Workstation from Ikea.

Most cables are attached to the desk with cable ties to keep them out of the way and there's a USB hub attached to the back of the panel under the desk.

The panel is also supposed to act as a cable shelf but British plugs are too big to fit inside it properly!

Also in this picture:

Canon MP210 printer/scanner/copier, Griffin laptop stand, Huså Work Lamp, Ageing Logitech MX1000 mouse, Sennheiser HD210 headphones (handy when my wife is watching TV at the other end of the room), Dymo labelling machine, some Uni-ball Jetstream pens from jetpens.com (I bought one in Japan last year and haven't been able to find them in the UK), fresh mug of coffee.

Still to do:

Find a decent bluetooth mouse to replace the MX1000. Partly because the batteries don't hold their charge like they used to and partly so I can lose the cradle.

Buy a pair of Logitech Z-10 speakers.

Find a replacement light - it's nice to have some bias lighting but the lamp is too big and the bulb too close to the wall. I'm thinking about getting some cheap cold cathode lights and attaching them to the back of the desk instead.

Get an Aeron chair :)

Those poor shoes that have been kicked out of the closet will be burned tomorrow in a garbage incinerator!

With help from Hubby, we managed to get the "Studio" back in order (i.e. the decluttering clutter temporarily stored within over the Holidays is now where it belongs) just in time to get this picture before the topic (below) expires.

Daily Dog Challenge - #5496. 1/1 “Resolution(s)”

1. Take at least ONE picture in the "studio" per week*

2. Take at least ONE picture for every topic posted in this group. As I'm the one posting the topics, this should be easy but as I found out last year, it's not (although I was successful. Barely!)

*caveat - every week where the "studio" is available. How can an otherwise unused bedroom in my house, dedicated to shooting the dogs, not be available? Well, as we finish the whole house/storage shed declutter, we will probably turn next to the garage, and it's possible we'll need the space for sorting. PLUS in the middle of summer the room gets toasty. Yes, we have A/C, but the room's orientation makes it hotter than the rest of the house.

Anyway - we'll try!

365:2026 - #7

Its been ages since I uploaded anything. I began to question- what drives the need to create?

Inspiration is like wispy clouds on a breezy day. They are there for a passing moment and then poof, the wind has taken them forever. Somehow, if you can harness that moment, distill it and add to it, that essence becomes a place that can creatively seed.

My best work has always come from despair. Of experiencing something that I needed more than words to express. Something that bridges the ability of words and can be represented in an image.

Emotionally and spiritually I'm very focused at the moment, but physically I'm highly critical of myself and unhappy with how I look and present, my skin is kicking back and I'm left with a general overall feeling of fatigue.

Ordinarily in the normal world I would buy something new, bleach and/or shave my head and go shopping but at the moment none of those options hold any appeal. I've been blessed with employment throughout the pandemic and probably earned more this year than I ever have, but by contrast I have decluttered my home, and reduced where I can, but my body feels the weight of the working from home groundhog day, the lack of exercise and the homecooked meals or food on the go.

Instead the options available are to wear the wigs, the heels and the tutus and dance around the kitchen on a Sunday night. You have to reach for those wispy clouds however you can.

My modernist Eugenia has excessively rooted hair, that makes her head look like a hot-air balloon, I just hate it.

the outer contour and the central line part are full of hair, so it was not necessary to fill the head so much on the sides, for this reason I decided to eliminate all the hair strands that I think are superfluous.

A lot of strands!!!

in the picture you can see the hair that I removed only on the half of the head, still missing the second half

I wanted to use "decluttering" word for this action, but I think isn't correct, english speaker any suggestion?

...im in the middle of packing to move from my place... sooo im decluttering. gawd i got a lot of crap! good but a tiring process, and painful too. brings back a lot of memories. people i've forgotten, pictures i've forgotten, past that took me months to forget all of a sudden was there in front of me again, the good, the bad and the ugly. tho it's interesting how life seems to fit in boxes, put away, out of sight out of mind. moving on towards the light...

Went Garage Saleing yesterday and found this piece and it's perfect for the doll shoes and boots.....

Make a difference by decluttering your house and pay to put your junk in our storage.

Does not seem like declutter at all. Seems only like reallocation of the clutter and of money.

Re-working of an image I took a few years ago. Practicing my photoshop skills! Removed a car, traffic beckons, scaffolding and sign, box junction and some rubbish! Full size original next on photo stream.

Well here I am again - year 4?! I've been doing some soul searching about this whole PAD thing. Although I've lost my mojo of late, photography/flickr gives me such pleasure that it's hard to stop, and it's exciting to see the new group starting up. However, I really do need to make some changes this year and get on and do the things that I've been meaning to do for years now. If I do end up PADing it'll be different to before - more of a diary of the year and lots of pics may well be private/just for the group.

We made a good start today - we've been sorting and decluttering all day. It's a drop in the ocean but it's a start. The teetotalism will have to wait - I'm off to celebrate with a new year G&T. One step at a time!
