Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Bulbs at Macro Mondays.

People, you have no idea how many bulbs and electrical parts I found while decluttering my garage this weekend. Christmas lights bulbs, led bulbs, huge vintage bulbs, black lights bulbs, tiny colorful bulbs, twisted bulbs : you name it and I can assure you I have at least one in my garage. Keep in mind, that there is no one who is an electrician in my family. And frankly, most of those bulbs are useless since they are either too old or we don’t own the lamp which goes with it anymore… So, all bulbs we don’t need were donated to our local thrift store (they have a home improvement section). Maybe there is someone out there, searching for some light… I just hope he will find the perfect bulb for the enlightenment of his life !

Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday. And of course, I have a new picture for this occasion… At first, this picture was another version for the « mini-maxi » theme at Smile on Saturday but I decided to turn it (or should I say « rotate » ;-) ) in to another « crazy » vision from the bottom of my brain… Exceptionally, I can’t say that this vision was alcohol induce since I did not had a single drop of alcohol yesterday… As you might know, I’m going back to my office (after almost 3 years of working from home) on this Monday so I have to be sober and fresh like a rose ! At least for the first week… Also, we are starting (this Monday as well... of course it had to be the exact same day !! The universe is playing with us !!) a huge renovation project on our house, so I had to be sober in order to help my husband in our last decluttering sprint before our garage gets « destroyed » (in order to be transformed in to something else…). So this picture is 100% alcohol free… But, don’t be surprised if you see it again on this Photostream, I made a few different versions …see you later, I’m sure my husband needs another set of hands for carrying something very heavy (apparently I’m super strong !!) !!

Today is yellow day at Color my World Daily and it was truly a long time since we had a banana on this Photostream. This is a perfect day to show you my yellow picture of Republica Santa Banana. If you are a French Quebecer, I’m sure Santa Banana will ring a bell. For all other, Santa Banana is a fictitious place from a cult French Canadian movie called Elvis Gratton (yes, it is about Elvis !! And much more) …So can you imagine living in Republica Santa Banana ? Beautiful yellow sky with awesome clouds… tiny colorful houses and all the bananas you can eat… however, the wi-fi isn’t that good according to some… So will you be able to live without wi-fi in beautiful Republica Santa Banana for 6 months ? Eating only bananas ??

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Looking close on Friday is Cylindrical. At first, I had no idea for this theme but after short brainstorming I decided to go with 2 cylindrical pieces from my sons game, called Architecto. We got this game forever but unfortunately I never saw a single soul play with it… You have to be very creative since to play this game you have to build several constructions with a given number of pieces. I like this neon orange color so I’m pretty much sure I will keep it as props for my photography. And just to make my picture more appealing, why not trying a balancing act. I hope you will like it !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is funny packaging. It is the perfect theme to show you my magnetic wooden mannequin. I wanted this magnetic mannequin for a long time and when I got it (as a gift from my sister) I was very surprised by the package. At first, I taught it was a joke since the box was way too round and small for a wooden mannequin. But when I opened the box, Mr. Magnetic was inside with a wooden ball to keep him occupied (and for some raisons, I got 2 wooden balls !! Is that awesome or what ??). Being a little bit claustrophobic, I can only imagine how boring and difficult life in a tiny box must be… I’m assuming that is why, Mr. magnetic needs 2 wooden balls…I hope you will like my picture and I hope that the funny and claustrophobic packaging will make you smile !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Macro Mondays is chip. And since Red lady is truly addicted to potato chips, why not use her addiction and snap a picture in front of her huge pile of potato chips… I must admit: I’m not a fan of potato chips at all… I can easily just eat one Potato chip or not eat them at all. Of course, this is complete different with Nutella, chocolate or gin… so I can, kind of, grasp this Potato chips addiction. This week was awful for my diet (again !!) and all my resolutions. I’m afraid I fell off the wagon and gorged myself on Nutella and gin&tonic. It is a shame, since I was truly doing very well diet wise. Luckily for me, I had an amazing family time so I don’t regret any of it ! And today, on Monday, I’m starting over: cabbage soup here I’m come ! Wish me luck !! No potato chips for me !

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Looking Close on Friday is words of love.

I had this very simple idea in my head which turned out to be super time consuming and very difficult to realize… Every single item in this picture was truly against me ! The tiny beads were falling, twisting and turning, like they had a mind of their own…The heart was very obnoxious and cocky ! It had to be put away for some « think about what you just did » time… The tiny key was the only one showing some love and compassion… It isn’t surprising since this key, once belonged to my beloved grandmother and she was all about love and compassion…Well, with all that we have today’s picture with some words of love. I hope you will like it my friends !

Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and I have a new green picture to celebrate. During my decluttering process, I found out that I have many, many tiny pencils… Interesting fact: I have much more tiny green pencils than any other color. I can’t understand why, since we buy our pencils in boxes and there is as many green ones as other colors… Keep in mind, that my sons use mostly grey or black pencils: they rarely draw with colors, so there is no reason to have more used green pencils ! Another true life mystery !

I’m back… kind of. I have lots of stuff going on in my life right now and I have to start planing our big renovation project which is coming on very fast and starting at the end of March … and as you all know by now, I’m a hoarder so I have way too much stuff in my house… however, I could not resist posting today’s picture and it was a great way to « escaping » from the tedious task of decluttering my house…

I was inspired by the frost on my window today. It is truly unbelievable what you can see under a macro lens… Don’t you think that this tiny piece of frost looks like an old forest ? A magic forest ? With the moon and a dinosaur (why not ??) watching over ?

Yesterday, I had a very spontaneous family gathering with my parents. I had a crazy day but an awesome time ! I set up all of my Christmas decor, including the Christmas tree ( yes !! My Christmas tree is all done ! Can you believe it ??) !! We did some major decluttering of our clothes with my husband (which was very fun, actually !!) and of course I prepared a meal for my parents and us. If you are curious: we had pierogis.

I'm such an unorganised photographer! I'm good at going out and taking the photos but when it comes to sorting them out and saving them I'm totally useless. So this morning I spent over 3 hours decluttering my computer and saving files to my external hard drive. I deleted over 6gb of data from my desktop (now I know why it was running so slowly) and whilst I was at it I decided to sift through my hard drive. In doing so I uncovered some images I didn't realise I had, and ones that I actually really like. It's amazing what you overlook at the time, and this view from the Yorkshire Dales is definitely one of them for me.

Another sunny (Yay) day today - chilly and bright.

We have a weekend of hunkering down whilst moving forward in the moving onward ... (packing, decluttering, paperwork etc etc). I shall not relax for at least another 4 or 5 weeks - so bear with me - I may turn Grumpy at times.

I've been cleaning and decluttering the house as my daughters and granddaughters are coming today for a few days. I'm hoping for a Hypo Full of Love by Alabama 3. this was the last decent sunset I had at Southerndown.

A picture and a lamp. Not enough possession to be moving, so that stuff was possibly not even hers. More likely, someone was decluttering. That's something I tried repeatedly and failed to make a real dent.

The building (1909) was used as stables for horses of the Massey (Borden) Milk company, before it became stables for students.

The next few weeks is really going to test my self motivation. Very limited photography if any (and winter is my favourite season). Dry January, weightloss, daily work outs and extensive speech therapy exercises, decluttering and Ebay selling, ETSY shop, various tutorials and online courses.

There will be low moments but I hope to emerge from lockdown healthy and happy! Hope everyone is doing ok x

While decluttering my laptop's storage, I stumbled upon this photo from a few years ago. It captures a unexpected encounter I had with a snake in my pool. What struck me was how at ease the reptile seemed in the water - it wasn't struggling or showing any signs of distress. Instead, it moved with surprising grace and agility, gliding through the pool as if it were its natural habitat but couldn't find an exit from the pool on its own.

Interestingly, although ring-necked snakes possess mild venom delivered through rear fangs, this one made no attempt to bite me during the rescue. They use their venom primarily for subduing prey and pose little threat to humans. 😀

I am decluttering hard drives, and I fell upon this, a decluttered image..Lol! A vague go at a different style some years ago. A 22 spot ladybird.

Pippi is such an adaptable little cat. Because of her allergies to dust, "her" bed in my computer room is normally one of the cleanest places in our house. The sheet, pillowcases over her heated mats, and dish towels under her food bowl get washed weekly. Lately, I've been in a deep cleaning / decluttering mode and so I've brought tons of plastic tubs full of old stuff up from the basement to sort and get rid of junk. A few days ago, I went through a tub of stuff from the year I spent in Kenya. I didn't know what to do with old prints and film negatives so I brought them up and put them on Pippi's bed. That's also where I dumped my beach towel and bathing suit once they'd dried. As you can see, Pippi just rolled with the mess.

I should apologize to her. This is not the most flattering photo and her big, not-quite-bald belly is showing. But her easy-going personality just made me smile.

When human longing is consummated by the silence of God, we are fully created as self-forgetful vehicles of compassion. Life will continue to involve pain, struggle, and duress. But pain, decluttered of the biting and chewing chatter that says life should be other than it is at this very moment, is very good practice, even if there is still a good deal of biting, chewing chatter involved.
