Today is a red day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Bulbs at Macro Mondays.

People, you have no idea how many bulbs and electrical parts I found while decluttering my garage this weekend. Christmas lights bulbs, led bulbs, huge vintage bulbs, black lights bulbs, tiny colorful bulbs, twisted bulbs : you name it and I can assure you I have at least one in my garage. Keep in mind, that there is no one who is an electrician in my family. And frankly, most of those bulbs are useless since they are either too old or we don’t own the lamp which goes with it anymore… So, all bulbs we don’t need were donated to our local thrift store (they have a home improvement section). Maybe there is someone out there, searching for some light… I just hope he will find the perfect bulb for the enlightenment of his life !

Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday. And of course, I have a new picture for this occasion… At first, this picture was another version for the « mini-maxi » theme at Smile on Saturday but I decided to turn it (or should I say « rotate » ;-) ) in to another « crazy » vision from the bottom of my brain… Exceptionally, I can’t say that this vision was alcohol induce since I did not had a single drop of alcohol yesterday… As you might know, I’m going back to my office (after almost 3 years of working from home) on this Monday so I have to be sober and fresh like a rose ! At least for the first week… Also, we are starting (this Monday as well... of course it had to be the exact same day !! The universe is playing with us !!) a huge renovation project on our house, so I had to be sober in order to help my husband in our last decluttering sprint before our garage gets « destroyed » (in order to be transformed in to something else…). So this picture is 100% alcohol free… But, don’t be surprised if you see it again on this Photostream, I made a few different versions …see you later, I’m sure my husband needs another set of hands for carrying something very heavy (apparently I’m super strong !!) !!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Looking close on Friday is Cylindrical. At first, I had no idea for this theme but after short brainstorming I decided to go with 2 cylindrical pieces from my sons game, called Architecto. We got this game forever but unfortunately I never saw a single soul play with it… You have to be very creative since to play this game you have to build several constructions with a given number of pieces. I like this neon orange color so I’m pretty much sure I will keep it as props for my photography. And just to make my picture more appealing, why not trying a balancing act. I hope you will like it !!

Today, we have Little Prince on the top of the world… and frankly, sometimes I think that it might be not a bad idea at all. I’m sure that Little Prince would do a great job as a world leader… or so I like to think. He is so adorable and kind…he cares about animals and plants… he is very diplomatic: he even befriended a snake ! So why not ? Let’s all vote for Little Prince.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and I have a new green picture to celebrate. During my decluttering process, I found out that I have many, many tiny pencils… Interesting fact: I have much more tiny green pencils than any other color. I can’t understand why, since we buy our pencils in boxes and there is as many green ones as other colors… Keep in mind, that my sons use mostly grey or black pencils: they rarely draw with colors, so there is no reason to have more used green pencils ! Another true life mystery !

I’m back… kind of. I have lots of stuff going on in my life right now and I have to start planing our big renovation project which is coming on very fast and starting at the end of March … and as you all know by now, I’m a hoarder so I have way too much stuff in my house… however, I could not resist posting today’s picture and it was a great way to « escaping » from the tedious task of decluttering my house…

I was inspired by the frost on my window today. It is truly unbelievable what you can see under a macro lens… Don’t you think that this tiny piece of frost looks like an old forest ? A magic forest ? With the moon and a dinosaur (why not ??) watching over ?

Yesterday, I had a very spontaneous family gathering with my parents. I had a crazy day but an awesome time ! I set up all of my Christmas decor, including the Christmas tree ( yes !! My Christmas tree is all done ! Can you believe it ??) !! We did some major decluttering of our clothes with my husband (which was very fun, actually !!) and of course I prepared a meal for my parents and us. If you are curious: we had pierogis.

I’m very sorry but with all that I could not answer all of your comments !! I will try to catch up as soon as possible my friends !! Meanwhile stay well and safe !!

I'm such an unorganised photographer! I'm good at going out and taking the photos but when it comes to sorting them out and saving them I'm totally useless. So this morning I spent over 3 hours decluttering my computer and saving files to my external hard drive. I deleted over 6gb of data from my desktop (now I know why it was running so slowly) and whilst I was at it I decided to sift through my hard drive. In doing so I uncovered some images I didn't realise I had, and ones that I actually really like. It's amazing what you overlook at the time, and this view from the Yorkshire Dales is definitely one of them for me.

A picture and a lamp. Not enough possession to be moving, so that stuff was possibly not even hers. More likely, someone was decluttering. That's something I tried repeatedly and failed to make a real dent.

The building (1909) was used as stables for horses of the Massey (Borden) Milk company, before it became stables for students.

I will have to stretch out this sunrise from the other morning for a bit longer then! I am sure you are all getting to know and love Mogshade Pond as much as me!

The next few weeks is really going to test my self motivation. Very limited photography if any (and winter is my favourite season). Dry January, weightloss, daily work outs and extensive speech therapy exercises, decluttering and Ebay selling, ETSY shop, various tutorials and online courses.

There will be low moments but I hope to emerge from lockdown healthy and happy! Hope everyone is doing ok x

While decluttering my laptop's storage, I stumbled upon this photo from a few years ago. It captures a unexpected encounter I had with a snake in my pool. What struck me was how at ease the reptile seemed in the water - it wasn't struggling or showing any signs of distress. Instead, it moved with surprising grace and agility, gliding through the pool as if it were its natural habitat but couldn't find an exit from the pool on its own.

Interestingly, although ring-necked snakes possess mild venom delivered through rear fangs, this one made no attempt to bite me during the rescue. They use their venom primarily for subduing prey and pose little threat to humans. 😀

Macro Mondays theme: Teddy Bear (image is cropped to under 3")

For the last few days I have been going through the basement storage under our stairs and decluttering and re-organizing the boxes containing years of memories, some of which are my kids toys. This is one of my daughters teddy bears. While I thought this theme would have been really easy and could easily find a teddy bear to photograph for the challenge I realized that my kids favoured bunnies and dogs over teddy bears. Thankfully I had this one to photograph and I think it is adorable with it's cheery colours and of course, it's heart shaped nose.

These cookbooks represent two of my New Year Resolutions: I need to make sure I eat healthily this year (and after that. I am also decluttering, starting with culling some of my 82 cookbooks.

Any book that has only a small number of recipes I will actually make (small in relation to how many recipes in the whole book) will go. I am photographing the recipes I think I will make, saving them and uploading them to a recipe app.

Week 23 in 52 Weeks for Dogs. and here is Tasku reclining on our brand new ottoman.

I'm almost caught up in the group - I was horrified when I realised just how many weeks of commenting I'd missed while we have been so busy at home decluttering, traipsing round furniture stores, getting ready for the decorator to come in, then having the conservatory roof replaced, new carpet laid in the living room, trips to charity shops and more. We are now having a break before we decide what to do next - we still have a lot to get through. My apologies to everyone in the group and thanks for your continued views, favourites and comments on my weekly photos.

Again the art of HD decluttering spews out another overlooked shot. Taken last summer (2014) at Nunnington Hall, somewhere in Yorkshire.

Recently, Jave, Alan, and I ventured up the California coastline to see the world’s tallest trees – the coastal redwoods. During late spring, wild rhododendrons nestled within the redwood forests bloom with pink flowers.

After much debate on when to head out, we finally decided on heading out by noon on day 1 with plans to squeeze in some shooting before sunset. Flying up Hwy 101, we managed to make it to the redwoods an hour and half prior to sunset. This ended up being one of the best calls of the weekend. Dense marine fog began rolling into the coastline by mid-afternoon and engulfed the groves of redwoods and rhododendrons in fog. It ended up that this evening was the time we had dense fog within the rhododendron groves during our 3-day stay. The presence of fog made a huge difference in the scene, decluttering the background and giving the scene and eerie yet beautiful aura.

It was a pleasure walking among these giants but seeing the vibrant pink rhododendrons blooms was the icing on the cake.
