Picked up a couple lamps from IKEA. I'm finally startin' to slowly declutter this office. Picked up a Logitech VX Nano mouse as well.

Was going through a bunch of old stuff I had collected over the years to declutter, and I just couldn't throw this away without at least taking a picture of it.
Today I found various bits and pieces in a box in the garage that my sister had donated for a charity event. These were some of the leftovers. Plus I’d had a sort out in the spare bedroom wardrobe, which is where the animal books, coat hangers and shoeboxes came from.
Clockwise from bottom left:
Farmyard jigsaw puzzle. I bought this to go in a shoebox gift, but it is too large to go in as well as all the other bits I want to put in. I am donating this to another freecycler who will put it in her church Christmas fair.
Various educational books for GCSE and AS level. I have no use for these so they will also go to the church fair.
A bag of coat hangers, the plastic and metal hook type you get given when you buy an item in a shop. We have hundreds of coat hangers so can afford to lose these. I put them on Freecycle, but there were no takers. I ended up giving them to a lady who takes clothes to a homeless shelter – they hang all the clothes up so these should come in useful.
Shoeboxes: I am doing shoebox gifts for Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child, and was given these to fill. I had already got my quota of shoeboxes and won’t have enough to fill these as well. I offered these on Freecycle too and they were taken within the hour!
Various video tapes, given to me by my sister for the charity. As they have hundreds already and these didn’t sell, I’ve offered them on Freecycle. These were taken by the same lady who wanted the shoeboxes. She will be taking them to her church Christmas fair.
Another china teapot from when I collected them. This was taken by a freecycler.
An earring holder. In with the stuff my sister gave us that didn’t sell. Off to the church Christmas fair too.
A pill box with the days of the week on it. I had this when I needed to take iron tablets earlier in the summer. I no longer need to use it now, so I’m donating it to my mum, who needs a new one.
SIM card for mobile. Given in with stuff from my sister. I don’t need it and won’t use it, so it will go along to the church fair too.
Eye mask for sleeping on a plane. Again in with stuff from sister, and going to church fair.
Two animal books. I bought these from a charity shop sometime and was going to alter them and make them into mini scrapbooks, but I don’t think I’ll ever get around to it. These went to the church fair too.
Another hodge-podge of bits and pieces today, but they all go towards the grand total of 100 items that will be gone from my house by next weekend!
I had worked at Goodwill Industries of Rhode Island for 11 years. It was a great place to work, and I thought that I would never again experience the feeling of making a difference in people’s lives. Following a short absence, I had the opportunity to return.
Just prior to coming back to work at the agency, I was going through a very difficult time. My husband had unexpectedly passed away, and my life was turned upside down. Goodwill welcomed me back with open arms, and provided me with a safe environment and much-needed stability. Being of service to others gave me a sense of accomplishment and belonging, and the future grew brighter for me and my daughter.
My current position is vocational evaluator/case manager. I am responsible for helping clients learn about their vocational skills, abilities, interests and aptitudes, and how they can translate into potential occupational areas. In addition, I help individuals identify how they learn best, their emotional and physical tolerance for a work day, and how skills and interests are transferable to different jobs.
As a case manager, I work closely with individuals to guide them through the process of re-entering the workforce, providing support and encouragement along the way.
Goodwill provides a great deal of professional training to keep employees informed of available services, updates to professional standards and other related issues. We also were able to obtain certification for PowerPath testing, which has really helped many of our clients better understand some learning challenges.
I firmly believe that each and every one of us understands Goodwill’s mission, and that we live it each and every day.

I got two Cable Boxes from A+R Store to hide my cables in my home entertainment unit. We’ll have to see if this works out.
White is for the Mac stuff, black for the stereo and game consoles.

ok, the design changed a bit. this is the design the pastor preferred - after i already got to the go ahead for a different design and did work on that. but, oh well, at least i have time to change! :)
this is the bulletin shell (imagine this folded, the left side is the back, the right side is the front).
my question is, does this need something else? their theme is SIMPLE - really trying to declutter at the holidays. so, i probably just need to be told simple is good, it's what they want, now leave it alone. but i keep feeling this pull to make it more - but more isn't always better! i just want to make sure the simplicity is beautiful.
any comments?

I don't know why I still have this. Come to think of it, I don't know why anyone thought giving stuff like this away was appropriate or useful. We spent a lot of money on logo-junk given away at exhibit halls and a lot of time and energy collecting it and dragging it home. Now I feel the need to declutter -- with logo-junk at the top of the must-go list.
Why would anyone, ever, have wanted a glass 2-button mouse with a trade association logo and URL etched onto it?

I am in Niagara and have been for a bit. I've been tending to my mom's home during the first four days here (redecorating the dining and living rooms, patching up and helping to declutter.) The work I promised to tackle is done and now we are set to unwind, visit, and take the boys around to places we knew when we were kids. I took my sons to Fort George National Historic Park in NotL yesterday as a start on my search to meet the challenge posed to me during my Get Pushed assignment. Fort George is significant as a point of conflict in the War of 1812, know as the Napoleonic Wars in the rest of the world, wherein the US failed in its one and only attempt to to put its doctrine of "manifest destiny" into practice into effect over British North America.

Sideboards:
Declutter your dining room with a functional, versatile, and aesthetically pleasing storage solution: sideboards! Since most sideboards are designed to house primarily china, stemware and silverware, in addition to any mundane necessities, such as bottle openers and coasters, you can be assured that you’ll always be ready to tackle any last minute entertaining. The sideboard, however isn’t limited to storing dining essentials. Take advantage of the many drawers and shelves built into most sideboards and use to store extra miscellaneous supplies.
Ignore the worn out coffee table. Hopefully it will be replaced this year. I have found the two styles of glasses this past year. They are fun to have. I have packed most everything away for now. I haven't been able to thrift in a while due to my low white blood count and risk of infection. I was putting things away in storage to declutter a bit but had to stop that too since I got to weak. I hope now that spring is here I can get outside for a nice walk and fresh air. It is nice to have the photo to reference what I have. I would like to find a glass caddy that these glasses would fit into. It would make it nice to carry them out to the patio when we have company.

Day 13. Today FlyLady asks me to do one of Kelly's Missions. It was going to introduce me to how to break our my home into zones. FlyLady promises, that this way we never have to spring clean again! Yay!
There will be a new mission from Kelly each day during the week for whatever zone we are working in. This week's zone is Zone 1- the front porch, entrance, and dining room. From these three we only have the entrance, so I chose the mission that made me clean up the entrance. Kelly challenged me to do this is in less than 15 minutes, but I think it took a bit longer.
