Our wooden A-Frame display stands are becoming more and more popular at home.
Of course they're perfect for shops, cafes, bars and restaurants however they're proving just perfect for storage solutions at home.
vintage porcelain teacup. . .purging some vintage goodies in a new etsy shop called wolfiedigs. It's not a new venture or direction, just a way to declutter the house a bit (I hope!)

This baseball cap is from a winery I LOVE. I have owned it for 4 years and worn it exactly 0 times. I've been saving it for the day I'll wear it but, let's face it, that day isn't coming. Off to Goodwill it goes!
This photo is a blast from my High school Past. Wow I had hair back then! 150Lbs Then maybe less.
This was from the Moore High School AFROTC Dining out. I found this photo cleaning out some old boxes while trying to declutter my life.
My towels and washclothes. I left the basket of vitamins and the tuperware of our less used jewery in there. Then I got rid of all towels that didn't match, that had big holes or stains, and that just generally didn't work. I left only 6 towels in great condition (one needed a small repair to a hem) and that all matched. I left all the white washclothes (we use about 4 a day), and three hand towels (which are mostly for show in the bathroom).

With a move to a new building looming in work we've been encouraging people to declutter and shift as much crap as they can from out of their cupboards.
This has yielded some unexpected gems, particularly in the discovery of very old technology.
One such item was this beauty which looks barely used. It's a Sony Mavica FD series digital camera. Guess what the FD stands for? Yes, as well as using those new fangled Sony memory sticks it also accepted 3.5 inch HD floppies into its built in floppy disk drive.
Maybe this tech passed me by, but until I saw this I had no idea such beasts existed...

I am pretty sure I look even dumpier than normal in these jeans but they are comfortable. What's a girl to do?
Very messy before shot of my home office I let it go way to long before cleaning, including typical paper clutter, as well as toys on the floor as well as other junk that didn't belong in the office in the first place.

And this is where it gets hard. I know Goodwill isn't going to do anything with these, and the only place to put them is in the trash. But it is really hard to throw things like this away, even though they've been collecting dust for years.
While trying to declutter my apartment this summer, I discovered a bunch of videotapes stored in some drawers in my living room. Wow, I've watched a lot of TV over the years, but going through these so far has only confirmed for me that I have pretty good taste and still love everything now that I loved back then.
I got "Fields of Gold" in my head for this illustration after a weekend full of watching and listening to my immense stash of Sting performances. Tyrone blends into this warm scenery perfectly, but he will neither confirm nor deny whether it's really Sting's backyard.
Here's the song if you need a reminder or, like me, you don't mind hearing it one more time: youtu.be/PeKE2Z-9HVM.

My advice for organizing cheaply: Don't buy any more storage! If I feel the need to buy a new storage box, instead I declutter a box I already have. I like using shoe boxes and gift boxes for storage because I can change them or get rid of them without wasting any money. I reorganized this entire closet without spending a dime.
here's my plan, skim a bunch of the literary theory, blog it so I remember what it was and what I've read in case I want it again, then get rid of a lot of it.
Revisiting one of the locations I scouted last night. One of the oddities of so regularly shooting in this style is that a lot of the clothes and such that are in the shots actually don't show up. The coat that Victoria is wearing in this is, frankly, awesome. Still, gotta love the end result.
Strobist: a 430 in 1/2" grid @ 1/8th camera right, near, about 5 feet away. A second 430 @ 1/16th, bare on the ground camera right, far, to provide some depth and ground texture. Triggered via a 580 set to nul.
The book on the Kindle is "Earth," by David Brin. I had a paper copy, but used my book declutter rule on it: If this is a book I'd reread, then I should buy an electronic copy and reward the author, otherwise, why keep a book I won't reread?
Day 15. FlyLady says: "Make your bed".
Well. I'm not going to fool myself here. Making my bed is not going to be a part of my morning routine in the near future. Right now it's not on my Top 20 of daily priorities and on most days I would skip it anyway, so I'm leaving it for now. I will, however, focus on it later, after I have made some other changes.
So instead of making my bed I decided to declutter one of our few kitchen cabinets. This one is above our kitchen countertop and really needed to be reorganized.
I was going to take before-after shots of every three shelves, but after the first shelf I got so excited I forgot! I started from the bottom and in the end I removed all that medicine stuff. They're now on the top shelf as in the main photo.
I didn't plan on doing this when I woke up today, but I just decided that I couldn't go another day with this tangled mess inside my electronics drawer. So I dumped out all the contents and sat on the floor untangling and organizing this pile. Some stuff was already in ziplock baggies but not enough. Now almost everything has it's own ziplock baggy so they can never get tangled together again. Actually, almost all of this will eventually be discarded. I discovered I own 7 headphones and 13 mice!
This is the door to the livingroom. The pictures in this space were painted watercolors by my mom.
Lots of pictures (including close ups of the water colors my mom did) on the blog.

I have just had my first foray into the world of eBay. As part of my Project Declutter, we're getting rid of a few things, including some outgrown toys. I had fun setting up Kalu's knights for a last foray. I am particularly fond of the dragons!
