This waterfall will be reduced to a trickle in the summer. I have photographed it many times over the years and it's prettier with less flow but impressive now!

....to be honest, for the first time ever, I have been reasonably pleased by mobile photographs. they are nothing to write home about IMO, but the combination of my Passport camera with Snapseed, is somewhat enjoyable and I may take a fair number more snapshots with this always-with-me combination.

I finally made it to Deception Falls. I have passed by this spot many times on my way to be somewhere else. But on my way to EaWa for vacation, I decided to take Hwy 2 and make some needed stops. So glad I did but this was flowing like a madman, Quite misty but fun.
More locations on highway 2 that I have just drove by! Easy access and plenty of hiking, right off the highway. Taken with an ND64.
At Deception Falls Park. Next time we get there earlier and follow the trail even deeper into the forest.

Deception Falls on the south side of highway 2. 1/10 of a second, hand held. I didn't try it slower but I'm pretty sure I could have with the same sharp results. Tamron's VC rocks.
The flow is quite low now in the fall but still beautiful.

I found this old cedar tree near Deception Falls on Stevens Pass. I really like the texture the moss created, and the light cooperated nicely!
The second growth forest still has many old growth trees that are visible from the short nature trail. Here a massive Western Red Cedar tree sits near the ragging creek.
One of the short hikes that Bill and I stopped at on our way home from visiting the kids on Saturday.
We took a different route home this time. Instead of 3 hrs., it took us 7 hrs.! We kept stopping along the way, until it got too dark for us to explore! This one was taken after 7pm in the woods. I wasn't sure I would get any decent shots, cuz it was getting pretty dark out there!
Heavy rainfall on Nov. 17, 2015, caused a significant amount of erosion to a bridge on US 2 just east of Skykomish at milepost 54.
Deception Falls picnic area on Highway 2 near Skykomish, Washington. There were 20-30 rock piles in the stream bed. Totally fun whomever the rock stackers were.
Sometimes there is just no other way to get "the shot!" This was artfully taken and shared by @SteveBjorling...Thanks Steve!!
Along the Stevens Pass Greenway on US Hwy 2 in northern Washington. This is a three level falls with a fine short hiking trail near the falls.
