Tucked away along Highway 2 in the Cascades, Deception Falls is a hidden gem of Washington’s wilderness. Crystal-clear water rushes through moss-covered rock and cedar forest, filling the air with the sound of pure mountain energy. This short hike feels like stepping into another world.

This scene is part of "Deception Falls" near Skykomish, Washington. A small inlet down stream with deep green moss covered trees and exposed roots.

Deception Creek crashes down a few steps, then glides over smooth rock under the highway and ends in a square, misty plunge before emptying into the Tye River.

A great location is this waterfalls in Washington known as Deception falls. Several short trails lead down river to some photographic opportunities.

Get out of the house, find a place to just sit, and listen.
This scene has a lot going on, but its still a tranquil location found in Washington. I like blurring the water for a creamy effect but not over blurred.
Take notice of the wet rock look.

We saw the sign for this place and decided to stop and see how far we would have to hike to see the actual falls. Turns out the answer was "about 100 feet."
I spent Thanksgiving with 4 different species of birds (5, if I'm allowed to count the Bald Eagle flying above my head. Failed to get a decent shot of that).
Also: If all these birds can politely chill together on these rocks, why can't humans simply get along? (Relevant topic based on current events)
