At Termales del Ruiz, Caldas, Colombia.
This is a female Mountain Velvetbreast (Lafresnaya lafresnayi). This hummingbird inhabits moist forest at elevations from 1,500 to 3,700 meters (4,900 to 12,000 feet) in the Andes Mountains of Colombia Ecuador and Peru. Mountain Velvetbreasts are best identified by their thin, curved bills and their whitish tale patches.
This could be way off track, but I liked it.

Flickr Explore 13th December 2018 - My 17th Explore of 2018. It is my Explore Explore number 42 in total, since my first in March 2015
I was in Dublin, Ireland shopping and had my camera with me. I saw Eve as I was walking along the street. Her unique style really stood out. I instantly asked Eve if I could take her beautiful photo. I wondered if Eve might be dressed for an event but she assured me it was her fashion style.
Eve readily agreed and walked a short distance back up the street to this Christmas Tree location.
As I turned around another lady had stopped to take Eves photo on her phone Camera
Eve is from Italy and is in Ireland to learn English.
I gave Eve my contact card and got her email address to send her a copy of the photo. Eve would have been a fabulous stranger for my Human Family Strangers project. I met my stranger 100 in July of this year. So far I have not continued the project.

This is a 4x5 crop - which is not something I use very often (or ever before), but I like it. What do you all think?
13th December 2018:
Graham got me some new teabags the other week and I noticed that they have a funny saying on the packets. Plus the little tags have something on them too. You may need to zoom in to read it (right in the middle).
The latest one has "tealicious" on the tag and on the opposite side in French "beau-thé." Thé in French is pronounced like "way" in English.

This is one of many waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons National Park. I visited on a day of flast light which for me is perfect for this type of image.
When out birding in Kaladeo National Park, Bharatpur Rajasthan, we awoke to a foggy and a cold morning. Not a birders dream start. Stopping by at a forest guards camp for warmth and some hot tea, I noticed hundreds of cobwebs around his hut. The cold fog and the dew from overnight had formed these beautiful pearly drops on the entire cobweb.
Nature is a treasure trove. It offers us a bounty. There is so much more to see than we can ever comprehend. We just have to look.
Nurture Nature.
It's so easy to get a perfectly focused shot these days that sometimes I prefer it when a photo goes a little bit wrong.
I was puffing my way uphill in Fishguard in the rain this afternoon when (stopping for a quick breather) I looked up at these beautiful trees. Without thinking - I pointed the camera and clicked the shutter. Not until after did I look to see that the lens had steamed up. I love the effect!
22nd December 2018:
Totally bunged up with a cold along with an irritating sore throat. Nothing serious, but tiring and I need to be free of it for Christmas Day. Graham is slowly getting over his.
The weather wasn't dreadful today, but very cold and even with my bonnet and thick anorak it was too cold to go out. So I picked up our wooden spoon.
Well someone always gets The Wooden Spoon in the 7 Nations Rugby!

The ladies had crossed the bridge and were heading to the Theatre nearby. They accepted my invitation to pose in the photo.
Time to take back some of the Black Friday stuff that didn't fit, and to have a play with the Nottingham Nightscape

. . . One good thing about having an outdoor heater for the porch, I get to stay outside a bit more and see things that I might not of noticed before! Like this male Pileated Woodpecker's tongue! Perfect for going into narrow places in and around tree bark and finding every last little bug!
