Christmas Lights on the Samuel Beckett Bridge and lights of the National Convention Centre, Dublin Docklands, Ireland
A couple of photos leftover from the Christmas Fête. Sweets for after pudding.

Another photo from 2012, but I can't get out to find any green. :0(

A brief drive to the tip of Holgate hoping for a sunset through the clouds. Instead we got a little show from a snowy who seemed to be stalking a great blue heron! All the ducks were a bit further north and far from sight. It flew to within about 80 feet of the heron, perched, and waited. But when the light really got low, the heron took a bow and left the show. The heron would seem a rather mighty opponent but there's definitely an advantage when you can see in the dark.
Another glacier which has retreated a huge amount in the last few years. At this rate it likely won't be visible over the top of the hill in a few more years.
. . . Taken on the Traverse Area Camera Club Christmas Photo Walk a few weeks ago, the Sweet Pea store on Front Street.
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
Part-way through the Tongaririo Crossing is a section called the "Devil's Staircase". It works its way up the side of a mountain to the Red Crater at the top. On the way it was in thick cloud with poor visibility, but on the way back the clouds had moved on to show off the amazing volcanic landscape below.
"Surrounded by sparkling hedges, follow the path towards the Palace House Panorama. The grand country house, home to the Montagu family for centuries, is brought to life by beams of light that dance in time to much-loved Christmas classics."
Managing to gaze into the open eyes of a snowy in daylight can be difficult, at best. Their sensitive retinas leave them squinting throughout most of the day… that is when they are not actually sleeping. But in the minutes before sunrise, when its rays lazily find their way above the horizon, the beaches and bays are eerily blue and the golden iris of the snowy glows with pupils as large as saucers. It takes luck! Luck finding a bird in a suitable place, luck having a cloudless sunrise, and luck finding an owl motionless enough to allow for a photograph in such low light. As luck would have it, we were -- quite lucky. It was a brief but memorable moment at twilight dawn, indeed. #SnowyOwls
A family returns from the tiny Yubu island, arriving on the eastern shore of Iriomote on a water-buffalo-drawn cart.
This could be way off track, but I liked it.

. . . This Four Point Buck is a newcomer to my feeder, and has so far, avoided any arrows and/or bullets from hunters. I think I should put him in the witness protection program!

13th December 2018:
Graham got me some new teabags the other week and I noticed that they have a funny saying on the packets. Plus the little tags have something on them too. You may need to zoom in to read it (right in the middle).
The latest one has "tealicious" on the tag and on the opposite side in French "beau-thé." Thé in French is pronounced like "way" in English.

Not entirely comfortable with posting this image. It is a captive animal and this was taken through a mesh fence. The fact that there are two cubs does mitigate my feelings a bit, but it looked so sad!
At Termales del Ruiz, Caldas, Colombia.
This is a female Mountain Velvetbreast (Lafresnaya lafresnayi). This hummingbird inhabits moist forest at elevations from 1,500 to 3,700 meters (4,900 to 12,000 feet) in the Andes Mountains of Colombia Ecuador and Peru. Mountain Velvetbreasts are best identified by their thin, curved bills and their whitish tale patches.

I was in Dublin, Ireland shopping and had my camera with me. I saw Eve as I was walking along the street. Her unique style really stood out. I instantly asked Eve if I could take her beautiful photo. I wondered if Eve might be dressed for an event but she assured me it was her fashion style.
Eve readily agreed and walked a short distance back up the street to this Christmas Tree location.
As I turned around another lady had stopped to take Eves photo on her phone Camera
Eve is from Italy and is in Ireland to learn English.
I gave Eve my contact card and got her email address to send her a copy of the photo. Eve would have been a fabulous stranger for my Human Family Strangers project. I met my stranger 100 in July of this year. So far I have not continued the project.
