Most of Portland was socked in with massive amounts of fog all day long, but Mt. Scott was above it all. This image is pretty much straight out of the camera. Taken using the top of my car as a tripod.

Quick trip to New York last weekend to do more shooting with my Nikon Z6. It was super cold, which made it less fun that it might otherwise be. Still a great time though.

This book is an early Christmas gift from my parent's friends.

I was too busy this week. Work in a call center and helpdesk means 9 hours that drain all your energy. And all your good mood if you have to deal with angry customers. Not sure if it's worth all the stress and sacrifice.

I had a plan to save money and make this first small step in achieving my goal of becoming a freelance photographer. To invest in a new camera soon.

I keep reminding myself that my current work is only temporary, but still...

Rue Mallet-Stevens is a small housing development built from 1926 onwards to the design of Robert Mallet-Stevens for whom the street is named. There are five buildings in total, including one where the architect himself lived (number 12).

Number 10 was the home and studio of sculptors Joel and Jean Martel. Pianist, Mme. Reifenberg lived at number 8, Daniel Dreyfus at number 7 and Mme Allatini at numbers 3/5. At the end of the street, number 1 is the caretaker's cottage.

"Secret Paris" explains that "the design of each of the buildings depends on the juxtaposition of smooth sided white cubes in terraces, recesses and towers and jutting roofs". Mallet-Stevens himself said "the architect sculpts one single massive block: a house". The buildings were listed in 1975 but unfortunately this was to late to protect the furniture and fittings, also designed by Mallet-Stevens, carrying on the total design tradition of his predecessors such as Hoffman and Loos.

Today the buildings are private residences.

This Winnipeg honky tonk is now defunct and its iconic sign no longer dominates the corner. The initials W.F. stood for World Famous, which might be pushing it a bit.
