Pretty much I adore her. She is so lovely there is no denying that!

Entrando no clima de natal! <3

all my precious christmas decorations currently have to be displayed up high in dishes or on top of picture frames and doorways.

someone has developed a new fondness for shinny things especially if they are vintage; he has good taste.

Rue Mallet-Stevens is a small housing development built from 1926 onwards to the design of Robert Mallet-Stevens for whom the street is named. There are five buildings in total, including one where the architect himself lived (number 12).

Number 10 was the home and studio of sculptors Joel and Jean Martel. Pianist, Mme. Reifenberg lived at number 8, Daniel Dreyfus at number 7 and Mme Allatini at numbers 3/5. At the end of the street, number 1 is the caretaker's cottage.

"Secret Paris" explains that "the design of each of the buildings depends on the juxtaposition of smooth sided white cubes in terraces, recesses and towers and jutting roofs". Mallet-Stevens himself said "the architect sculpts one single massive block: a house". The buildings were listed in 1975 but unfortunately this was to late to protect the furniture and fittings, also designed by Mallet-Stevens, carrying on the total design tradition of his predecessors such as Hoffman and Loos.

Today the buildings are private residences.

We had a really lovely day today. Lovely lazy morning in town followed by lunch and the afternoon with our very close friends Lucy, (JP was at work) Matthew, Sabrina and Alex and the babies Finlay, Laurence and Luca. We had a delicious lunch and good chats and then opened our secret santa presents (I got Duffy's album and some Ruby & MIllie funky eyeshadows; very perfect gifts). Finlay got some lovely gifts too, his favourite I think being a Thomas the Tank Engine torch - Jonny apparently had one identical to it when he was little so I think Jonny was just as excited as Finlay.

We came home at about 5pm and had a lovely couple of hours just the 3 of us, our little family. We showed Finlay the chimney where Father Christmas comes down, then got FC's food ready and put some flour in front of the fireplace.

Finlay then had his bath and got his pyjamas on and came downstairs, and Jonny read him The Night before Christmas. It's lovely starting these traditions, and I am having the best Christmas I have had for years. It is 8 years today that J and I got together and I can't believe that I am now looking at a picture of him with our 2 year old son.

"Today Ichelin Clan troops moved into Lusaka, the capitol of Zambia. They are continuing into the capital building but with heavy resistance from NHE´s 8,000 "BlitzJagers" that got dropped two days ago. No one really knows why NHE deployed them into Zambia to stop the Ichelin Clans invasion of Zambia. The leader of the Ichelin Clan speaks: "I dont know why you declare war at us. We would like peace but if you want war then you are gonna get it. We are not cowards and we will keep pushing into Lusaka no matter what it costs"

Our booth from the Downtown DC Holiday Market 2011. I forgot to move the little propane heater before taking the photo. You can see our new under shelf lights, what a difference they make!

This image was captured just 5 minutes before the last one I posted. (At 3:32 in the afternoon) Notice the huge color change that took place within those five minutes. Mother Nature is amazing.
