L'edifici data de l'any 1565 i originalment estava situat al carrer Corríbia. Cap a l'any 1950 l'edifici va ser traslladat a l'actual emplaçament de la Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, una de les façanes, i el carrer de Montjuïc del Bisbe, l'altra, aprofitant un solar deixat per un edifici destruit durant els bombardejos de la Guerra Civil, on van construir un edifici nou i se li van posar les façanes de l'edifici del carrer Corríbia. Degut a que l'edifici en el seu emplaçament original tenia unes dimensions diferents a les del nou solar van haver de fer-se modificacions.
Les gàrgoles estaven originalment a la planta baixa, però ara són al segon pis.
Entre 1970 i 2015 va ser la seu del Museu del calçat.
La façana del carrer de Montjuïc pertanyia a l'edifici vei - nº 4 del Carrer Corríbia.
