A handsome blue dasher male sits, motionless, near our pool. The photo was taken late this past summer season. From his perch he could survey the area, taking flight after other insect prey.
A lack of crosswalks does not deter this pedestrian dashing across one of the busiest streets in the Province of BC on Kingsway @ Olive.
A traffic light and pedestrian crossing has been installed since this was taken.

Snow blankets the ground beneath the sprawling metropolis as Amtrak B32-8W #514 leads the Hiawatha through the searchlights at CP-MORGAN— mere miles from Chicago Union Station. Due to the now fully realized mechanical deficiencies of Siemens Chargers in temperatures below freezing, the 35 y/o Dash 8s are now regularly thrust into revenue service. Today was no exception as 514 replaced a sidelined charger on the Hiawatha's 'B-set' between Chicago & Milwaukee.

The Blue Dasher dragonflies are aptly named, not only for their beautiful blue colors, but the dashing part because they are constantly dashing here and there, only stopping to rest for brief moments from time to time.
During a recent mini-vacation to Callaway Gardens we saw lots of dragonflies zipping around the various ponds, lakes and streams. I caught this one at a small koi pond just outside the butterfly center. Aug 2014.

Union Pacific C40-8s No. 9131 and 9235 pull the ZDVRO-18 through Riverton, Utah the evening of June 18, 1998.
CSX 3355 leads M209 southbound on the Toledo Subdivision as it ducks under the classic B&O cantilever. After absolutely throwing a shot of 911 at this same spot a few months ago, I'll gladly take anything from here, even if it's just a GEVO.
It wouldn't be one of my series if it didn't have at least one artistic shot.

SOO FP7 2500 flashes through the Wisconsin countryside on the way to Dresser with a Steve Glischinski photo charter. Time well spent. It was a fun exhausting time.

It’s a frigid day in northern Ontario as the late afternoon sun starts to fade and the temperatures along with it. At the moment though, the golden hour highlights the winter landscape and the golden cab of 2105 as 214 kicks up the fresh powder making every bit of track speed at Owaissa.
This is an outtake from Jasper's leaping leprechaun photoshoot. I enjoyed some of the outtakes so thought I'd post. Another in the first comment

Just northeast of Topeka, the UP 8897 leads an eastbound manifest (TPAS, perhaps?) out of town towards Kansas City. The Calhoun Bluffs are receiving a dusting of snow, creating quite the setting for an otherwise commonplace train.
Back in Spring of 2023, I spent some time in the Midwest capturing some of CN’s roster that I either haven’t seen, or haven’t seen enough of (being where I’m from). Here we’ve got a loaded Iron Ore train, with a trio of ex UP C40-8’s hauling the load towards Two Harbors.
