Daddy Mike and his cigar!

Granddaughter, Tessa, waiting on Daddy & Sienna to bring the donuts for her birthday breakfast on Sunday. Below are 2 more photos--one of Luke & Dawn leaving for his class reunion, and Sienna "working it" in one of her mama's dresses. You'll also notice Tessa still trying to figure out how to make Barbie's hair pretty again after a bad haircut. She kept washing the doll's hair over and over again thinking that would bring back the old hair.

Is there any creature more faithful, more loyal, more forgiving than a dog? Dog's offer their masters true unconditional love.

Daddy II is our backyard Eastern Bluebird. He and his young mate Mama III have their first egg in the box. Looking forward to many babies from this pair. They are inseparable, always chortling and wing-waving to each other.

This one belongs to the Tipulidae category. It is an insect, often confused with a "harvestman" (Opiliones) which are spiders. Even the name "daddy long legs" is ambiguous. In Great Britain most of the time Tipulidae

are meant, in the United States Opiliones, in Australia Pholcus Phalangioides, also a spider. So this is what I found out about this guy.

As I liked the name "daddy long legs" for this photograph better than the Latin name or the name "crane fly", I am using it here ;-) . By the way, it can't sting, it just consumes water and nectar.

Used a 36 mm macro ring (automatic), the Nikkor 18-55mm, and a tripod. Exposure time was 1/100, aperture f/10.0.

Or better known as Huntsman Spider.
