It looks like I started this on July 26th or so. So a little under 3 weeks and here we are! And a little under 8 skeins of Louet Euroflax.
I may have to go back in and change the length once I have the under-dress and petticoats sewn, so I'm not weaving in the ends until all that stuff is taken care of. I'm still a bit concerned about where the actual waistline wants to be, so I may end up taking an inch or so out of the bodice. We'll see, and I've got time to figure it out.
Details:
A variation on the "Which Do You Choose?" dress by Jill Stover. I knit this on US#5s. I used 7.5 skeins of Louet Euroflax in Cream (Lot 47). I ripped back 15" of the skirt and started over, doubling my stitches to give it more volume. I added those wee sleeves (the underdress will only follow the line of the yoke, and not go under the sleeve portion).

Dress rehersal for the girls dance recital. It took place at the Newmark Theatre in Portland, Oregon.

Penelope's new dress is made for a three year old which is why it looks a bit big. She has a year and a half to grow into it. I thought by then summer must have come back. She is also not wearing the best footwear for it, but it is so cold and wet and windy, I left her in her furry slippers.
The dress pattern I followed is Shannon's Sally Dress, using Lizzy House's catnap fabric: Purrfectly Happy: Cloud fabric from Backstitch
I chose it as I love the big pockets and wanted to make a special cat pocket for Penelope's snug; Meow, who goes everywhere she goes. You can read more about the dress here

So this is one of those dresses that I will keep no matter what you say. This gem was discovered at the Hollywood Goodwill. The poppy fabric beckoned me (I love poppies!). Upon closer inspection I discovered that it was a Vera print (the Vera famous for her gorgeous scarves). Being a Vera collector, I practically shook while purchasing it for $7. It's the perfect house dress, albeit a bit hard to wear to public functions (but maybe I'm being cowardly). It makes me feel like Mrs. Roper, which I quite like.
Pros: It's a fucking VERA, it's Mrs. Roper-y, it's got poppies and my name all over it.
Cons: it's a mumu.
Sentimentality factor: very high.
Tried this on in Macy's earlier in the week, The Barister at Starbucks told me it was a pretty dress :)
