This custom-fit dress is composed of more than 3,000 unique interconnected parts which were 3D printed as a single folded piece. While each component is rigid, in aggregate, they behave as a continuous fabric allowing the dress to flexibly conform and fluidly flow in response to body movement. Unlike traditional fabric, this textile is not uniform; it varies in rigidity, drape, flex, porosity and pattern through space. The entire piece is customizable, from fit and style to flexibility and pattern, with the Kinematics Cloth app for clothing design.

Finally got to see my little niece in the ice cream dress I made her for Easter. It is fun to see how my sewing has improved since I made my first ice cream dress last fall; the notch and pockets in particular have noticeably better execution.
It looks like I started this on July 26th or so. So a little under 3 weeks and here we are! And a little under 8 skeins of Louet Euroflax.
I may have to go back in and change the length once I have the under-dress and petticoats sewn, so I'm not weaving in the ends until all that stuff is taken care of. I'm still a bit concerned about where the actual waistline wants to be, so I may end up taking an inch or so out of the bodice. We'll see, and I've got time to figure it out.
Details:
A variation on the "Which Do You Choose?" dress by Jill Stover. I knit this on US#5s. I used 7.5 skeins of Louet Euroflax in Cream (Lot 47). I ripped back 15" of the skirt and started over, doubling my stitches to give it more volume. I added those wee sleeves (the underdress will only follow the line of the yoke, and not go under the sleeve portion).

Dress rehersal for the girls dance recital. It took place at the Newmark Theatre in Portland, Oregon.
I don’t get the keds thing you males have. They are just shoes to me. I guess they make a foot look more petite. Is that the draw for the guys?
