Dont’t throw your old books, turn them into these gorgeous paper roses .

The inner and outer paper are separated from the card here. The card and outer paper have been trimmed down, but I've left the inner paper untrimmed, so it is poking out.

Now, open to the back cover and cut the heavy paper between the inside cover and the end page of the journal. Take care to only cut the paper and not to damage the leather outer binding on the journal's spine.

Here's what the journal will look like once you've removed all the interior pages.

Open up the journal and find the sewn bindings. Cut them and pull out the pages. This will remove about 75% of the pages.

 

Note that you could skip this step and simply go cut the binding on the front and back cover, but removing these pages makes it easier to do that.
