I made some miniature polymer clay ornaments for my 1:6 scale Christmas tree. I used Sculpey from Walmart and miniature clay cookie cutters from Michael's. Fimo is nicer, but this stuff is inexpensive.
1. Mix polymer clay to desired color.
2. Roll with wooden rolling pin (I use a toy block) and flatten with plastic box cover. Do this on wax paper.
3. Cut from mold. Peel away unwanted polymer clay.
Finished owl craft. We made these for a "owl couple" baby shower and these little owls are perfect as a party favor as as a gift for the little one that is about to arrive. Read all the details on our blog at: blog.thecelebrationshoppe.com/2009/08/24/diy-plush-owl/

This has been something that I've wanted to do for a while and I finally got the stuff I needed to make them. I've had one of the skulls for a while and I got another for a friend to make her a house-warming gift for her new apartment (she absolutely loved it!). I originally wanted hers to be white but it turned out that the white glitter I got was actually clear with pink shimmer, which I didn't realize until I had covered almost half of the skull with it. I think the silver looks great and I'm really pleased with how they turned out! They were so messy and a lot of work to make but definitely worth it.
Clockwise from the top-left corner:
* Felted Flower (on an adorable purse)
from Bets White
* Frayed Flower (so shabby chic!) from Maize's Diary
* Silk Flower (here on a Ring Pillow, but would be cute on anything!)
* A Layered Rose from the Carol Duvall Show on HGTV
* Rose from BurdaStyle
* Pretty Red Flower from BurdaStyle

I made Geraldine today on the Amtrak. She is made with fleece, which is much nicer to me and softer than felt. She is my fist creation that I am generally almost completely satisfied with. The only problem is that on the other side of her there is a big fat glue stain behind her eye because I didn't know how to work the super glue bottle.
Anyways, I am proud of myself.
Sorry about the polka dots. Maybe a little much.
