They said that to become a strobist one needs to find inexpensive ways of creating some light modifiers. So I made my own version of the famous drinking black straws grid spot. I cut the black straws into 3 inches long glued them together in a toothpaste card box.

There was an outlet in the back hallway that was chipped, and I decided to replace it.
My idea was to put in an outlet with a built-in nightlight (as seen here), but it was a 3-way junction, and this outlet could not be wired up without interrupting circuits down the rest of the hallway and to two of the bedrooms.
Things could be rewired so this would work, but that would be extensive.
I did not take a photo of the outlet I put in here (sans light) and the outlet I replaced in the kitchen, because... there was nothing comparative to show.
