using wood glue, the cut-to-length wooden dowel is clamped to the *side* of the wooden belt & tie rack. both pieces in this picture are 22" (your dimensions may vary). for better adhesion: 1. apply the wood glue and press it against the wooden plank where it will go. 2. pull apart and let the glue on both sides air for 1 to 2 minutes to allow a bit of it to cure 3. clamp it back into place and wait an hour or more
when it dries, use a tiny drill bit to drill pilot holes where the brad nails will go. this will prevent the wooden dowel form cracking. the ikea attest handles will attach to the bottom of this dowel; so, avoid any nails in the vicinity of where they will attach.

primed, painted, and hardware components attached to the belt & tie rack.
the camera lens and angle gives off the illusion that the drawer slide is not flush, when in fact it is. there is just enough clearance between the ikea attest handle screw heads and the drawer slide while remaining flush to the other edge.

Another modification to the X-Arcade trackball (stand-alone, discontinued) controller. These are GroovyGameGear's PRIME buttons, which have a shorter action than Suzo-Happ buttons. I modified them so they would match the TurboTwist spinner on the right, and provide a contrasting color scheme on the left.

This chair is almost finished...2 coats of paint are on this now & it looks far better than it did before we bought it at that sale (at that time if they had been mine I might have thrown them away.) The shair beside it is also painted in the fig tree dark brown & will be accented by the same red seat cusion for the bamboo couch & the brown chase lounge. We have yet to get fabric for the chair bottoms of these 4 chairs.
It's that time of the Pumpkin Season and I love pumpkins but I dislike carving them. Here's a better way to display your pumpkins without the hassle of cutting or carving anything. Not only it will look great, it'll last longer and it's an artwork that you created.
All you have to do is have some sharpie pens and a pumpkin.
