It's a good thing Janie likes doing stuff like this. Of course, it's easier for her than it is for me. She can access the space under the sink much more easily than can I.
And yes, both Janie and I know that "flexible" sink fittings are a bad idea. That's what was there, so that's what we're putting in for now. We'll be back in the fall to install a decent drain pipe system.

With my job being a 3D-artist/-designer and my hobby of 3D printing I thought of a nice and experimental project related to photography. I've been very interested in generative design lately and explored a hybrid modeling technique to incorporate organic, turing pattern like surfaced into industrial design models. I chose to make this organic and somewhat alien looking grip for my Yashica Electro 35CC and print it on my MSLA printer. This project was all about experimentation and learning. So I took the opportunity to also try mixing my own resin colors. That bone like one was mixed from 3 different resin colors and the black one from 2. Besides that I recently upgraded my FDM printer to a direct drive which allows me to print rubber like material. So I also made custom rubber grommets for the base plate. To finish things off I applied a few layers of clear coat to both grips for a glossy look.

This lakeside villa has certainly seen better days...perhaps I should look into purchasing it - a few roof repairs and it would be good as new!! I'd be just like George Clooney! ;-)
Then again...I also remember Diane Lane's renovation nightmares in "Under the Tuscan Sun"... :)
As seen from the ferry enroute from Isola Superiore to Stresa, Italy.

Freaky Finger Red Velvet Cake
1.Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. For the cake, grease 2 x 20cm sandwich tins and line the bases with baking parchment. Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla, then add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg, until fluffy and light. Beat in the colouring.
2.Mix the dry ingredients for the cake, and sift half onto the creamed mix. Fold
in with a spatula, followed by half of the thinned yogurt. Repeat, then spoon the smooth batter into the tins and level.
Bake for 25 mins or until risen and springy when pressed lightly in the centre. Cool for 10 mins, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
3.For the fingers, line a baking tray with parchment. Cut one end from each chocolate finger. Mix 50g icing sugar, the milk and a small blob of colouring to make a thick, red icing. The icing needs to be thick to stay put; add a little more sugar if you need to. Dip the severed biscuit ends into the icing, let the excess drip off, then paint a red fingernail on the other end, using a small paintbrush. Leave to dry on the parchment.
4.For the frosting, use an electric mixer to beat the butter well until very smooth, then beat in the cream cheese and the zest (if using) until even. Sift in the remaining icing sugar, then fold it into the cheese mixture using a spatula until smooth. Don’t overbeat. Chill until needed.
5.Sandwich and cover the top and sides
of the cake with the frosting – you will only need a thin layer on the sides of the cake to stick on the chocolate fingers. Stand the severed fingers around the cake in a neat collar, pressing them lightly into the frosting. You’ll have a few left over to put on the top. Keep the cake in the fridge but enjoy it at room temperature.
Ingredients
1
box Betty Crockerâ„¢ SuperMoistâ„¢ devil's food cake mix
1
cup water
1/2
cup vegetable oil
3
eggs
1 1/2
containers Betty Crockerâ„¢ Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting
Tray or cardboard (20x14 inches), covered with wrapping paper and plastic food wrap or foil
2
yellow Betty Crocker® Fruit Gushers® fruit snacks, from a 5.4-oz box or 1 large yellow gumdrop
1
small black gumdrop
Black shoestring licorice
Directions
1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease or spray bottoms and sides of two 8- or 9-inch round cake pans.
2 In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pans. Bake as directed on box for 8- or 9-inch rounds. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Refrigerate or freeze cake 30 to 60 minutes or until firm.
3 Using serrated knife, cut rounded top off cake to level surface; place cut side down. Cut cake as shown in diagram; arrange pieces on serving tray. Attach pieces together with a small amount of frosting. Spread a thin layer of frosting over top and sides to seal in crumbs. Refrigerate or freeze cake 30 to 60 minutes. Frost entire cake with remaining frosting. Use yellow fruit snacks or gumdrop slices for eyes, black gumdrop for nose and shoestring licorice for whiskers, lines on eyes and front paws. Store loosely covered.
check for studs on the wall using a stud finder. make sure the wall plate mount is level.
the flat head wood screws will attach here.
you can prime and paint all the wooden pieces (except the mdf) before or after these pilot holes are done.
pre-drill pilot holes for the wall plate mount right above the height's midpoint. this is done to avoid any interference with the drawer slide hardware.
note that this is not a permanent attachment. it is done to double check measurements, fit, and make life easier when screwing in the hardware later on.
as they say, measure twice, cut once.

Wooden model buildings of an old Wild West ranch house fort, circa 1960s. Found in a old cardboard box, no lid, but covered with tape to keep all the parts in. Intriguing, we thought, gotta be something cool going on in there. Hauled it home, peeled off the sticky tape box top and found some big parts and little pieces to an old country western ranch or fort diorama. In the shop now, ready for an intrepid do-it-yourself-er that wants a cool construction project. Meanwhile, it's sitting around looking incredibly cool, just as it is...
A woman in a red shirt operates an electric chainsaw while preparing to cut wood. She stands beside a shed filled with neatly stacked logs on a bright day in a countryside setting.
First, I dunked the violet. This was a bad idea. The petals bent back on each other and got stuck. So I figured out a better way: flatten the petal you want on a piece of waxed paper so that the top (face) of the violet is facing up. Then gently brush on like you're painting your nails. Rotate the flower to do the next petal. Repeat until all are coated.
create the wood spacer (this is #5 in the materials section at the top of this photo set).
this piece goes between the wall plate mount and the drawer slide for added clearance from the wall).
1. cut to length. approximately 22" in length (your length will vary depending on your closet).
2. drill corresponding pilot holes from the wall plate mount.
3. use primer and several coats of flat white paint. don't paint the side attaching to the wall mount since it will be covered with glue.
4. using wood glue, i applied glue in an s-shape on the spacer and pressed it to the wall plate mount. i pulled it apart for 1 to 2 minutes to let the glue air and provide better adhesion. then i clamped the spacer into place, making sure the pilot holes line up. let it dry for at least an hour.
while it is hard to tell here, the top edge of the wooden spacer is flush with the wall plate mount.

It's that time of the Pumpkin Season and I love pumpkins but I dislike carving them. Here's a better way to display your pumpkins without the hassle of cutting or carving anything. Not only it will look great, it'll last longer and it's an artwork that you created.
All you have to do is have some sharpie pens and a pumpkin.
You don't have to know how to draw, that's the beauty of doodling. Enjoy!
This Holiday is all about being creative and giving something that you make. It's more heartfelt than just buying something from the stores. Don't you agree? Plus they get to have an original. Enjoy!

the purpose of this picture is to point out that the back end of the drawer slide will stick out a bit to avoid any friction with the closet's wooden back support. the drawer slide is not attached in this picture.
check fit. align and mark off with a pencil where the belt rack will be attached. (the picture is not accurate since the drawer slide is not flush to the left edge yet.)
