The Chassis:

The chassis of the camera is a corn beef tin (the type you open with a little key). The first stage of the camera's construction was fairly straight forward. After thoroughly washing out the can and making a few careful measurements, holes were drilled for the pinhole opening, advance key, tripod socket, rear window (to see exposure number) and another to act as a socket for the shutter release cable.

I wanted to be able to see the exposure number, so I incorporated a rear window similar to those found on old box cameras. After drilling a hole (1 cm in diameter) I took two dark red transparent candy wrappers and taped them on the inside of the tin over the opening. When I do eventually use this camera I plan to put a small piece of black electrical tape over the window to prevent accidental fogging of the film.

Inner Housing:

As the camera uses 120 film, it was necessary to facilitate an inner housing/film holder. The rollfilm holders (in grey) are made out of cardboard tubes for both the reserve and take-up spools. Not only do these hold the film spools in place, but they also provide additional protection from potential light leaks. The next step is to spray the housing with a coat of primer before painting it a flat black. The construction of the housing was fairly simple; I began by building a box and then added the cardboard tubes and shutter mechanism. I designed the inner housing to allow for sixteen (6 by 4.5cm) pictures on a standard roll of 120 film.

Remember: It's what's on the inside that counts!

I finished the final version of my 6x9 point and shoot camera. The camera was built by combing and augmenting pieces from many different sources of photographic equipment. The frame of the camera is a Mamiya Universal Graflok adapter, the lens mount is a reversed Arca Swiss recessed board, the helicoid focusing mount is a gutted 75mm Bronica ETR lens, the back is a 6x9 Horseman roll film holder, the grip and support rails are by Small Rig, the finder is by Olympus, and finally the lens is a 55mm Rodenstock Digital Sinaron.

Shutter Mechanism:

What I devised, in essence is called a Drop Shutter (also know as a "Guillotine Shutter"). It is a very simple and reliable shutter design and was one of the first mechanical shutters used in photography. When the button on the shutter release cable is pressed, a metal rod pushes down the shutter piece, moving it into the "Open" position. At the same time a small elastic band connected to both the shutter and a "bridge" piece becomes stretched. When the cable is released the rod will retract. Then the elastic band acts like a spring, pulling the shutter back into the "Closed" position.

When I took this picture I was thinking of people making assumptions based on limited datasets. As of 1-st of March all public transport became free in Luxembourg. In the whole country. At around that time the number of users dropped some 90 percent. Does it mean that people don't want it for free?

Very simple rotational camera I've been working on lately. should be done hopefully next week. mechanically it works so far, theres a dc motor to turn it. I added a couple plastic gears to a small hobby motor to slow down the rotation. I don't have a lathe so Im waiting on a turned drum from Multicraft plastics to replace the dowel I used in the center for the film advance. then the wires and it should be done.
