Fomapan 100 in Rodinal (1:50 @ 68 deg. for 8 min)
-- Designed in London and built in 1958 as a Canadian research vessel and icebreaker, this ship's most notable history came in the late 1980's when it helped Tommy Thompson and others locate and partially salvage the SS Central America which sunk in 1857, some 160 miles off the coast, taking many lives and lots of gold to a depth of 8000 feet. They used a robotic submarine named "Nemo" to recover significant amounts of the gold and other artifacts. Litigation ensued, with absconding and disappearance, and I believe some of the recovered gold is still unaccounted.
-- Now the tilting RV Arctic Discoverer is only a shadow of what it once was. Resting at a dock in Green Cove Springs, Florida, a hole in the hull has the flooded the lower compartments. Preparations are underway to have it sunk as an artificial reef.

Recently had the opportunity to shoot a runway fashion show. Seeing as they were taking COVID precautions and I was fully vaccinated, I decided to shoot the event. It was very strange to be back at an event a year into the pandemic, but it was fun too. I'm still not 100% comfortable being around groups of people even with precautions in place but I'm slowly getting used to the idea.

SET 3 – Goodman/Getwell Kroger, Post-Remodel
Taking a more drawn-back view of the bakery, we see in the foreground a couple of low-height refrigerated cases full of deli goods, the right-hand one of which also features Kroger’s new “Discover Local” imaging. Not sure if that’s a chainwide thing or just a Delta Division thing, but it has popped up in just about every store I’ve been in in the last few years. I like it, even though it does look a tiny bit cheesy.
I talked over it in the last description, but if you flip back to that for a second, you’ll see that the extreme close-up of the “BAKERY” lettering allows us a really good look at the construction of the department signage for this décor package. Given the way décor pieces seem to be made these days, I’m not sure if that’s real wood or just wood-look material, but in particular the roughness of the sides of the letters as well as the unfinished (that is, not painted white) portions of the sign ledge really make me lean more towards it being the former – which is rather interesting, I think.
(c) 2023 Retail Retell
These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
Tucked away in a quiet corner of a wood at the base of Bennachie, you could be forgiven for stepping over some fairly unassuming rises in mossy floor without noticing how they form the plan of what once was a historic equivalent of a care home for the elderly or poor: a bede house. Even when the Ordnance Survey came past in 1866-67, they appended '(remains of)' to the mark on the map, so it's not surprising that the physical traces are as sparse as the documentation of the place.
It is understood that at some point, four poor men lived here, in what were a set of very small houses, each with it's own "yardie"; each man entitled to "a peck of meal, and half-a-peck of malt each", per week. There were women too, the comprised the last two inhabitants.
