The little girl was admiring the fireworks on the 4th of July in Seal Beach. Yes it’s true, children see magic because they tend to look for it.

My attempt to photograph the recently discovered comet Neowise. This was taken at Lookout Point in Harpswell, Maine where I have taken so many sunset photos. There was much ambient light and i had a difficult time getting the comet in my view finder and in getting it in focus. I did not completely succeed in the latter. I like this one because it shows the comet in relation to the Big Dipper or Ursa Major. I could not see it with my naked eye unless I did not focus directly on it even when dark at 10:30 pm. There was a thin cloud near the comet and that is visible in the photo. It's named after NASA's Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, otherwise known as the NEOWISE mission, which discovered it in late March.

Picture was made 09.11.2014 at Wuppertal.

The Research Vessel Arctic Discoverer was the workhorse of the successful effort to find and salvage the greatest shipwrecked treasure in United States history. Now, almost three decades later, the forlorn ship languishes, moored to a boat yard south of Jacksonville, Florida, the victim of its own success.

Windows have always been fascinating to me, they seem to be the soul of a house as are eyes the soul of a body.

I'm at the point in my puzzle where I have to observe the slight color variations and details in the pieces. So close to being done. Then I can have my table back.

Katherine in her garden, pointing out a particular plant, I believe. I can't remember; last summer feels like it was a decade ago! We now have some snow but are heading into 40-degree days in SW Michigan, meaning what little lake ice we have will likely melt, making my ice-fisherman husband very ornery...

Katherine is holding a flower stem, which she eventually handed to me. I can't quite place what it was. Maybe one of the Egyptian Walking Onions that grace particular areas of her garden? Perhaps it was a bud from one of her many different colors of daylilies? The funny thing is that if I were to ask her, even now, she would remember, especially if I told her what time of year it was. She has an amazing memory for many things, but flowers top the list.

I did get permission from her tonight to post this photo, by the way, "As long as my face doesn't show and I"m wearing a beautiful outfit." Then she went on to tell me what she had chosen from her ginormous collection of clothes to iron this morning for her outfit today: layers of turquoise blouses and shirts, blended with some chartreuse items and with a bit of orange lipstick to bring it all together. She is one of a kind and I look forward to Spring when we can again wander her gardens with Covid behind us, just enjoying the pale new sun and great swaths of daffodils, fragrant hyacinths and laughter :O)

When people think of the UK they often think that there’s London and then the rest is just country side.

But, whilst London is no doubt one of the world’s best cities, the UK has so much more to offer.

There are a number of cities that have become extremely popular over the past few years, one of which is the Northern city of Leeds.
