Dank an den Schlingel, der während des hsberlin2011 beim Mexikaner Takos bestellte .... das war die Geburt der Idee ;-)

I made three batches of hummus.

This was the third one. It was mostly freeform and got a bit frankenstein; too much lemon juice in it. Cilantro was used instead of parsley which was a little on the strong side. I'd say this was my least favourite of the three.

Tri-colored Tortilla Chips w/ Spinach, Artichoke & Chedder Dip... yummy.

Claire Rubin has a collection of pens that showcase a history of the most important tools that authors use. Stop by Aurora Hills Branch Library to see the pens in person-- including a writing box used by a student from c. 1900 to modern pens that you may use in your office or at school.

the road had a lot of dips, but was really smooth (and had some *great* corners). here, Surendra (fore, blue) and Dennis' (back, red) bikes take a rest while we all take pictures.

On 11 February 2010 HM Ambassador Greg Dorey was the guest of the DIP! (Diplomatic discussion) event organised by the Common Sense Society, a group of university students and young professionals who meet regularly to discuss issues of philosophy, politics, culture and history. The host of the event, András László of the CSS, first asked Ambassador Dorey about his career as a diplomat and his experience in Hungary. Afghanistan and Iran were the topics of the ensuing discussion: Ambassador Dorey shared with the audience his views on the outcomes and future implications of the milestone London Conference on Afghanistan held on 28 January, and presented and explained the UK position on Iran’s nuclear programme. Questions from the floor followed, which also provided Ambassador Dorey with an opportunity to brief CSS members on the British Embassy’s activities in the fields of transparency, diversity and tolerance. Serious discussion then gave way to informal chatting and networking over mulled wine in the Cigar Room of the Ybl Palace.

It's nice how the TPWD staff keeps a narrow band of mowed grass along the road, letting the grasslands grow beyond. The Dip is in the roadway.

This little soul was soaking twigs in our birdbath - I guess to make them supple so as to build a nest.

1/2 c of greek style yogurt (I like 2%, if you use fat free, you may want to up the seasoning because it won’t be as rich)

1-2 tbs of cumin (to taste)

1-2 tsp of cayenne (to taste)

Dash of salt if desired

Put yogurt in a small dish, add the other ingredients, stir, adjust seasoning as desired.

Does that even count as a recipe? Really?

Anyway, I use this with veggies or chips. It’s so quick to put together, with instant flavor and is realtively healthy as far as dips go. As a general rule, I find I don’t like my dips to have any sweetness to them, but I think that’s pretty rare. You might take a hint from the inspiration recipe and add a touch of honey to balance the flavors. Your call.
