The dipping platform at Lesnes Abbey ponds. A nearby notice board says it is to enable visitors and schools engage with wildlife.
It also says:-
"Some work will also be included to improve wildlife habitats and to prevent vegetation overgrowing and choking the ponds."
The work was HLF funded, I don't think anything can have been spent since.
So some Eejit came up with this idea to do 52 diptychs in 2012 . one mono and one colour . So i`ll be uploading mine every Sunday for the next 52 weeks !! ..................
And No !! this isn`t my 2012 project , just a sidebar so to speak ....... thought it might be fun ;-))

So youāre having friends over this Sunday and everyone is expecting guacamole. Well, of course you donāt want to disappoint.
But for the white wine crowd, why not patĆ© too? And Pomegranate Yogurt Dip? Not typical, I admit. Maybe because we live in San Franciscoā¦itās not so strange, is it?
This delicious pomegranate dip is super-easy ā you just throw a few ingredients together. It goes great with kettle potato chips, pita wedges or veggies like sliced cucumber and jicama.
The only trick is learning to seed the pomegranate. Lop off the top, score the flesh in quarters and break the fruit apart to pick out the seeds. You donāt want to cut all the way through the fruit because youād be cutting the seed sacs, losing the juices.
Iām counting the hours until Super Bowl Sunday but I donāt care who wins. Iām in it for the commercials.

During my trip in India, I took this pic of men bathing in Ganga. Nothing original, exept that I really liked the atmosphere and found this custom magnifiscent.

View to NE from the lake steamer, taken a few minutes after leaving Weggis in the direction of Vitznau, looking at the eastern outskirts of Weggis (Pfannestil).
The weather was very overcast for this trip and here the clouds, which appear very white here, were lying at only 900m or so (upper L). (The dark triangle (upper R) is just the overhanging upper deck of our boat. I'd have cropped it out but that would have taken too much out of the rest of the photo too.) Weggis is a small town on VierwaldstƤttersee (Lake Lucerne) in the Swiss Canton of Luzern.
GEOLOGICAL NOTES
These cliffs are outcrops of the Lower Freshwater Molasse (Weggisschichten / Weggis Beds), Chattian age, Upper Oligocene. The Lower Freshwater Molasse is approximately equivalent to the Molasse Rouge of Western Switzerland. Almost all the ground in this view is underlain by Molasse, dipping more or less uniformly to the SE (R). The Molasse consists mostly of fluviatile sandstones and conglomerates, resulting from rapid river erosion of the rising Alps (c. 1mm/year at that time) and deposited in fan systems along the northern front of the new mountain chain.

This is a case of seeing something on Pinterest and making it at the first possible moment. Baked zucchini spears and caramelized onion dip from King Arthur Flour. I love fried zucchini, but given I made the resolution to NOT fry at home this year, I wasn't going to do it, and anyway I thought I'd give the baked a try. The panko crisped but the zucchini ended up rather soft; perhaps I cooked it too long? Still, totally edible and tasty.
The dip though! Make that dip! It's absolutely delicious. I ate it on cucumber spears, too, and it was fantastic. (Tried it on a carrot stick and I thought the combo was too sweet.) All of it very easy.
