The Mission Nombre de Dios Museum opened on September 4, 2010 in conjunction with the 445th anniversary celebration of the City of St. Augustine, Flroida and the relocation of the casket of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, the founder of the city. The Mission Museum is an entity of the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine and is administered by the Mission Nombre de Dios and Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche.
The Mission Museum building was made possible through a donation from the Robert Ellert and JoAnn Crisp-Ellert estate. Planning and development of the museum was under the direction of the 1565 Committee. The 1565 Committee was originally formed to assist the diocese in preserving the records of the archives.
Exhibits Include:
The original casket of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, founder of the city of St. Augustine, dating to 1574. Menéndez, whose remains were in this casket until 1924, is buried in his hometown of Avilés, Spain.

A replica of the oldest written European documents in the U.S.
Coquina stones from 1875 foundation of a shrine chapel built by Augustin Verot, the first bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine

The Statue of the Nile God (Statua del dio Nilo) is an Ancient Roman, likely Hellenistic, marble statue dating from the 2nd to 3rd century A.C.
Nile God
It is located at Piazzetta Nilo, at the start of via Nilo, in the quarter of the same name, and it is this statue that gives all their name. The church of Santa Maria Assunta dei Pignatelli faces the statue, and the Palazzo Panormita is on the north flank. Two blocks mainly east, along Via Benedetto Croce (part of the Decumano Inferiore commonly called Via Spaccanapoli) rises the church of San Domenico.

Piano is now on "casters" (i.e. tiny jewellery box cabinet knobs). I am pretty happy with this little detail!
Also, after MANY failed attempts, I finally got the TV to have a working light inside! It involved taking apart a puck light, and drilling a hole in the back for the cord. I still need to cover the rest of the hole (and seal the inside) with black electrical tape, so it stops shining out of the cracks where the plastic pieces fit together. But omg you guys, this has been a struggle FOREVER. Alas, it's also REALLY difficult to photograph. But hopefully you get the idea!
Speaking of lighting, I also FINALLY found the fourth IKEA dioder light strip, which is now set up over the piano. I want to get another set at some point, but for now, I'm pretty happy!
I got up early to hike to the top of this ridge. I was running late to be a the "top" and the landscape was lighting up. Just at that moment, I noticed a small path that led off the trail to this great viewpoint. Nice to be above the clouds.

La huaca data del año 200 DC. Debió ser un centro administrativo y ceremonial moche que controlaba el valle de Chicama. Fue abandonada hacia el año 650, poco antes de un fuerte fenómeno del Niño. Las lluvias torrenciales acabaron por devastar el monumento. Posteriormente, fue utilizada por la cultura lambayeque (siglo VIII al XIV) como cementerio.
Las paredes de la huaca están decoradas con relieves policromados que representan sacrificios humanos, guerreros o motivos fantásticos entre otros. Este mura representa al dios moche Ai apaec.
Toda una noche esperando poder captar las perseidas, fueron aproximadamente 07 horas de varias cosas; estrellas, volcanes, ruidos, perseidas, amistad, platicas, técnicas, encuadres, frío en fin, Dios nos bendijo tanto y al amanecer nos tenía preparada esta sorpresa, estoy maravillado de mi Padre que me ama tanto y me premia aún sin merecer con su creación.

In questo percorso dei Magi d’Oriente è simboleggiato il destino di ogni uomo: la nostra vita è un camminare, illuminati dalle luci che rischiarano la strada, per trovare la pienezza della verità e dell’amore, che noi cristiani riconosciamo in Gesù, Luce del mondo […] Nella festa dell’Epifania, in cui ricordiamo la manifestazione di Gesù all’umanità nel volto di un Bambino, sentiamo accanto a noi i Magi, come saggi compagni di strada. Il loro esempio ci aiuta ad alzare lo sguardo verso la stella e a seguire i grandi desideri del nostro cuore».

I finally completed the desert dio I started planning last year, and I'm very happy with the results. The colors I picked were sitting around for months, but the whole piece with the cave mouth was something I only thought of a few days ago. I had an odd piece of styrofoam and decided I could paint it up like a cavern entrance.
For my first picture with it, the natural choice was the VAMP mk 2 and some of our oldest friends, Clutch, Grunt, and Dusty.

While trailblazing atop Green Mountain earlier this year in Spring, the setting was perfect in capturing the Cambron Covered Bridge from afar while the water was still. Although the sun was higher than I preferred, it lit the clouds and sky above to a perfect tone.
