A kingdom has fallen,
The battle seems lost,
All faith has been robbed
Over a doomed
Horizon.
Oh! Where is Hope,
Where is the Calm,
Where is that Peace so free
We could not keep from
Fleeing into the
Horizon?
But where there is defeat,
There is a Victory.
Where there is despair and doubt,
There is a Hope, an Assurance.
It towers, it emanates there,
Far away, where the Dawn is made,
Where only He can see,
The Horizon.

Sixth picture of the series Green Dawn, taken in the Mediterranean Sea, just at sunrise.
It's not very usual to see coast with rocks in the province of Valencia, only the locals know these small and wonderful places.

We live in a winter wonderland at present - I just can't get over how great it is :-)
i took quite a few pictures - view them my favourite way (I hate the white background on flickr) using the link below:
Il laghetto della Costa, minuscolo specchio d'acqua vicino ad Arquà Petrarca, nel parco dei Colli Euganei.
L'acqua termale, più calda del terreno, crea spesso un velo di foschia, al mattino, e una suggestiva atmosfera fiabesca.

I like the way the snow looks on the roundish supportive ridges above. How velvety and how inviting! Mt Korenge (2766m in elevation). Yes, an avalanche graveyard, so far entombing not a few adventurous/daredevil skiers. Yet to some, probably looks all the more fulfilling/becomes engrossing for it.

Day 30 #covid19 #lockdown
On #WorldEarthDay this image of dawn near Whinhill In Greenock seemed so appropriate at this time. With everyone on lockdown nature is getting a chance to recover. Take care everybody.
Fishing boat followed by gulls as dawn breaks just inside the Arctic Circle on the Norwegian coast
Composite taken in the same place within a few moments - just to make a little more interest - original RAW unedited images below
An earlier version of this image recently came out top in Outdoor Photography's 'One Thing this Month' competition and can be seen in the current issue. This is a slightly different edit, which has a bit more bite. I just love the recession of hills here and the whole spectrum of colours. Comments always welcome and thanks for looking.
Crescent Moon, Jupiter, Venus and Mercury aligned from upper to lower in the dawning sky. You are lucky if you find the faint white light of Mercury between the clouds at the bottom center (please enlarge the image). Taken at 19:26 UT on August 19, 2025. Handheld.

Sandy Bay Road runs alongside the River Derwent. In this dawn shot we are looking at the old Peacock's Jetty while coloured lights decorate the trees that run along the bank.
Simply point and shoot with the iPhone! The sun is still way below the far hillside, but the sky turns a fiery red. I couldn't resist the call - and this is the zoomed-in final shot I took.
