First produced in the late 1940s, it powered the first Vickers Viscount maiden flight in 1948. The Dart was still in production until the last F-27s and H.S 748s were produced in 1987.

The building to the right with the corrugated roof is part of the former Cumberland Motor Services bodyworks and paintshop which was accessed from the narrow Wellington Row, the sign for which can also be seen.

Nice to catch a Dart and Volvo together and we'll be seeing all of the Volvo

B7 RLE's later in this series. It's interesting to compare the design and

shape of these two single deckers from 2002 and 2004 respectively.

The continuing Dart cull at Guildford has seen off all but a few of the buses.

Here's 3090 (P290 FPK), a survivor at the moment, at Guildford bus station on route 26.

Expect it to disappear relatively soon as new DAFs arrive.
