This photo taken on 21st March 2012 is my last photo of Arriva Guildford & West Surrey Dart 3088 (P288 FPK) in its old colours, prior to application of Aldershot & District commemorative livery.
It's seen on school route 121, a variation of the 21 which went to/from Priory School in Dorking. Both routes have now been withdrawn, as part of the Surrey CC Bus Review changes that caused 3088 to be withdrawn.
I do have a better version of this shot, but technically, that's not my last photo of it in turquoise!
Like a number of Darts, 3088 was withdrawn after the end of service on 1st September 2012 and stored at Cranleigh.
Kings Road, Shalford, Surrey.
All these 7 shots of balloons was taken 1 frame at a time, not set on multi shot, for each one i had to throw the dart 7 times. i know it can be hit of miss but i had more hits than misses, lucky i guess. The shots were taken in my garage as the water can make a bit of a mess. I mounted my nikon SLR with 90mm Tamron lens on a tripod fitted with a cable release, the backdrop was a piece of black velvet to stop the light shining on the background from the flash which was a tripod to the left of the balloon an a projector screen on the other side to throw the light back on the other side.Placed a bowl to catch the water, then all i did was throw the dart and press the cable release and there you have it. TIP: leave water in balloon for at least 3 days to stop the balloon from splitting too quickly

A construction trailer damaged by Hurricane Matthew is seen in the Launch Complex 39 area at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Assessments and repairs are in progress at various structures and facilities across the spaceport, part of the ongoing recovery from Hurricane Matthew, which passed to the east of Kennedy on Oct. 6 and 7, 2016. The center received some isolated roof damage, damaged support buildings, a few downed power lines, and limited water intrusion. Beach erosion also occurred, although the storm surge was less than expected. Photo credit: NASA/Ben Smegelsky

Darter "Anhinga melanogaster."
Also known as.....Diver, Needle-beak Shag or Snake bird.
The Darter is a fishing bird related to cormorants with a stiletto like bill and snake like neck. They swim underwater and often impale small fish etc with a sudden thrust forward of their neck and open bill.
On the surface, Darters swim with their body submerged and only their neck and head visible, hence the name "snake-bird."
Thanks for visiting. D&J.
Dart Y857 TGH has been the regular vehicle on the tendered Grant Palmer 68 for the past few weeks now, a far cry from its London days .Working the 13.15 from Bedford, a diversion is taken by this and one other outbound as well as 2 inbound journies to serve the rural Wootton Ends, that would otherwise be devoid of public transport. Here the last few yards are covered into Hall End through the narrow lanes of the area. Back in May 1980 I can remember catching a National 2 on the same route.

Female common darter I think, resting on Rennie's chair, a pice of sculpture by one of the local ponds. I have written elsewhere that these ponds have for a large part been deserted by the larger dragonflies as they have become overgrown with reedmace.

The Dodge Dart is an automobile built by the Dodge division of the Chrysler Corporation from 1960-1976 in North America, with production extended to later years in various other markets. The Dart was introduced as a lower-priced, shorter wheelbase, full-size Dodge in 1960 and 1961, became a mid-size car for 1962, and finally was a compact from 1963-1976. Chrysler had previously applied the "Dart" name to a Ghia-built show car in 1956.
The project planners proposed the name Dart, only to have executives demand an expensive research program which produced the name Zipp. This was promptly rejected in favor of Dart. The name found favor as the market had been recently introduced to a new military aircraft called the Convair F-106 Delta Dart, commonly known as the "Delta Dart", in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race during the early 1960s.

The Bedford Dart was an initiative set up by Bedfordshire County Council around about 2005 which sought to give a corporate branding to some of the Council subsidised bus services running in the area. Along with the North Beds Dart operating services out towards Renhold, Little Staughton, Keysoe, Kimbolton etc and East Beds Dart operating runs out from Biggleswade to Potton, Sandy etc the Bedford Dart offered journies to various parts of the town unserved by regular town services. Part of the car park at Aspects Leisure was devoted to a Park and Ride style operation of which a sign as seen here remains at the side of the little used Aspects Car Park alongside Barkers Lane. The Bedford Dart series of routes was ultimately unsuccessful and nearly all remains of the services were removed quickly after the routes ended in 2008. This sign is a rare reminder of this part of bus service history in the Bedford area.
