The celebrity Dart, 3089 (P289 FPK), recently arrived from Northfleet and bringing itself, the type and roller blinds back to Guildford, runs under the rail bridge on Stoke Road.
Deckers coming under here are a safer bet, as they need the full road width and thus you can go for an offside shot with a reasonable degree of certainty a car won't get in the way.
Not so for single deckers.

darter landed in the garden, only stayed around for a while before it flew off .... don't usually see them in the garden, only second one I have seen this year .... :)
Thursday 5th November, 2015, saw me on the 0750 rail replacement service from Oxted to Crowborough once again, but this time the allocated vehicle was Dennis Dart SLF Plaxton Pointer 2 461 (V14 SEA), new to LothIan Buses as V161 EFS and seen here at Edenbridge.

To the right were Convair F-102A Delta Dagger 57-0817 marked as 56-1357 along with a McDonnell-Douglas F-15A Eagle 76-0080
Outside their gate is an F-16A Fighting Falcon, 79-0296/FL01
The fact that earlier I'd met a fellow enthusiast at the NAS Jax Airshow who'd been at this spot the day before telling me a story that he'd subsequently been stopped and instructed to delete the images he'd taken through the fence of them.....and that the light had not been fading - I might have tried my luck.....
I did grab the Dagger and the Eagle too but the shot was blurred, however whilst driving away, the F-16 was more accessible so I'll post a shot of that another day

2011 Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Dart integral body/chassis with a Cummins ISBe 4.5 litre inline 4 diesel engine, Reg.YX61BXJ of ASD Coaches on a NHS Shuttle Bus service to Chatham Hospital at Chatham Quays, 28 October 2022.
Originally introduced in 2003 by Transbus (formed in 2000 by the merger of Alexander, Dennis and Plaxton) as a replacement for the Plaxton Pointer 2 body, the Alexander ALX200 body, and the Dennis Dart SLF chassis, the Transbus Enviro 200 Dart was effectively a semi-integral bus employing an updated version of the ALX200 body and Dart SLF chassis combination. However, available options were the Enviro 200 body with the MAN 14.240 chassis; or the Enviro 200 chassis with the Optare Esteem or MCV Evolution bodies. Production stopped in 2018.

Arkansas darter (Etheostoma cragini) populations are scattered among some small, spring-fed tributaries of the Arkansas River basin. This fish species is actually rare in Arkansas. The small streams occupied by Arkansas darters have slow current and silt substrates. The darters shelter in watercress and other aquatic plants, overhanging or flooded terrestrial vegetation, and even in the loose silt of the stream bottom. They grow to a maximum size of around two inches and feed on snails, isopods, a variety of aquatic insects, and some plant material. Photo credit: Daniel Fennel/USFWS
My favourite bus in Edinburgh: Dennis Dart SLF, Plaxton Pointer SPD, number 188 (Y188 CFS) and what a thrill to see her arriving here at Penicuik on Service 37. It was absolutely marvellous to see it sitting here right under the Pentland Hills.
188 normally runs around the inner parts of Edinburgh's City Centre and is branded for route 36. The first eco-bus AD-Blue with special exhaust features to reduce emissions, Lothian made this, their oldest public service bus, the cleanest and greenest in the entire fleet. The constant stop-start nature of the 36 diagram means that, while operating between Holyrood and Ocean Terminal, it never gets a long run of any sort.
On this day this must have felt like a dog that's usually kept on the lead and then suddenly let free to roam about - I wonder if 188 still has such things called sparking plugs - they'd certainly be clean now!
For us enthusiasts this unusual working was a delightful treat and even one or two of the drivers noticed the sense of excitement prevailing in the strong wind!
I made a tiny film of 188 leaving Penicuik which can be viewed here: Please enjoy:

Arriva Kent & Surrey 3223 (P223 MKL) is still going - the final Mk1 Dart at Guildford (3090 having died in the Christmas flood) - and you have to wonder how much longer it's got left. The other Volvo B10BLE will presumably see it off eventually, so the real question is with 3109/3110 - there doesn't seem to be a lot happening which would enable their displacement.
It was good to see 3223 on the 101 on Sunday - it did evade me during the morning so I was pleased to see it still on the route later in the day. This was in fact the last trip it did before having a break, with Enviro 4018 running onto the service.

To all my Flickr friends: we decided it was time for my little Dart girls to have their own FB page! If you are there as well, please play with us ♡

The Irish Rail 8201 / 8401 Class are 2 car DART emu's, which were built by GEC Alstom Transporte in Spain in 1999. There are 5, two car sets and are numbered 8201 - 05 (DMS) and 8401 - 05 (DTS). They entered service in October / November 2000 with the normal 2 car sets comprising an 8201 motor unit paired with an 8401 unpowered trailer unit.
Unfortunately, the Class has not been very successful.
They have spent long periods out of service; most recently from summer 2007 until March 2008.
Following a brief return to service of all units with the exception of 8204 / 8404, were withdrawn from service yet again, with Iarnród Éireann citing frequent breakdowns and small seating as their reason for early withdrawal.
They were stabled in Fairview DART depot during these periods of being out of service.
In 2012 the units were tendered for sale, but were not sold. They remain decommissioned at Inchicore Works, clear of catenary.
