In addition to the acoustic transmitter, fish are tagged with two conventional dart tags near the dorsal fin and measured before being released. This method of tag implementation has been used successfully for many species of fish, including common snook.

I went on a Flickr birdwatching shoot today with ##Happysnapper##, Allanhowell1 and Brie321 to Sydney Bi-Centennial Park at Homebush Bay. It was lovely to meet everyone and I had a wonderful time taking photos of all the bird life.
Darters are a water bird that is closely related to Cormorants. Their feathers are not waterproof and since they are underwater hunters you will usually see them sitting out of the water on a log or rock with their wings spread right out drying themselves. Their feathers are permeable to water to allow for decreased buoyancy so they can sink to catch their prey. They have an oil gland at the base of their tail which they use while preening and squeezing the water from their feathers. With its body submerged and only its head and neck above the surface, the Darter resembles a snake rising from the water; hence one of its popular names the Snake-bird. They have very long and sharp beaks, which they use with their long neck to spear their prey.

In the distance, the former Bank of Scotland Headquarters, now headquarters of the merged HBOS and this impressive Roman Baroque architecture stands on Edinburgh's Mound looking down over East Princes Street Gardens. The site was bought in 1800 and the HQ building was initiated while Henry Dundas, Viscount Melville (1742 - 1811), was already Governor of the Bank.
Note the fine dome with tempietto lantern - that's the bit on the top that looks like a little Greek temple. There's also a gold figure on top holding two rings - a symbol of the bank's posterity perhaps? Or may be he just wants to play hoopla.

The first of the VEX-es is also an odd one out, as the others have consecutive number plates 9, 10, 11 and 12 but his is number 2.
