There is a huge lack of quality fish photos of North american species, even worse so many are miss identified! so trying to ID some has been difficult. It will be an on going thing but I am going to try and catch and photograph as many species as I can.

First up is...

The rainbow darter (Etheostoma caeruleum) is a native North American fish found in small, fast-moving streams and small to medium-sized rivers. It grows to 2 to 3 inches (51 to 76 mm) in length.[1] The species is very sensitive to pollution and silt, staying in clean, pollution-free water. The rainbow darter is easily identified by three dark spots on the back, and blue and orange in the dorsal and anal fins. It is a small perch-like fish found in freshwater streams in North America.

In the distance, the former Bank of Scotland Headquarters, now headquarters of the merged HBOS and this impressive Roman Baroque architecture stands on Edinburgh's Mound looking down over East Princes Street Gardens. The site was bought in 1800 and the HQ building was initiated while Henry Dundas, Viscount Melville (1742 - 1811), was already Governor of the Bank.

Note the fine dome with tempietto lantern - that's the bit on the top that looks like a little Greek temple. There's also a gold figure on top holding two rings - a symbol of the bank's posterity perhaps? Or may be he just wants to play hoopla.

Arriva London North Dennis Dart SLF 10.2m/Plaxton Pointer DPP431, R431 COO [EC] on route 34 in Great North Road, Barnet. 1 February 2002.

The worst thing about the single deckers on the 34 were that the bus was to single door layout. The route is busy at most times of the day and evening with constant on & off loadings. The dual door ADL's from route 444 that made odd workings on the 34 seemed to run more efficiently at most locations were the bus would get packed. It meant people at the back of the bus wishing to alight didn't hold the bus up for a minute or two until they could get to the front door. The route has been converted to double deck with these buses cascaded to Arriva London South.

Another not so nice day, weather is very changable with rain periods, and we sure have had some rain over the past week or so. Miss Cheeky is not all that fond of traipsing thru wet grass. So I went out by my lonesome and took a few pictures. Kept me out of mischief 😁

The Irish Rail 8201 / 8401 Class are 2 car DART emu's, which were built by GEC Alstom Transporte in Spain in 1999. There are 5, two car sets and are numbered 8201 - 05 (DMS) and 8401 - 05 (DTS). They entered service in October / November 2000 with the normal 2 car sets comprising an 8201 motor unit paired with an 8401 unpowered trailer unit.

Unfortunately, the Class has not been very successful.

They have spent long periods out of service; most recently from summer 2007 until March 2008.

Following a brief return to service of all units with the exception of 8204 / 8404, were withdrawn from service yet again, with Iarnród Éireann citing frequent breakdowns and small seating as their reason for early withdrawal.

They were stabled in Fairview DART depot during these periods of being out of service.

In 2012 the units were tendered for sale, but were not sold. They remain decommissioned at Inchicore Works, clear of catenary.

Freshly repainted in weinrot und weiss Dennis Dart SLF, Plaxton Pointer SPD, number 187 (Y187 CFS) is one of fourteen single deckers which are Edinburgh's very last group of buses where fleet and registration number match, a tradition introduced in 1954.

On a beautiful autumn day, the 5th of October, we're in Princes Street and perhaps of notable interest is the arrival of the light fittings on tops of the tram poles; a modern interpretation of olden days certainly in terms of their positioning, on the island in the centre of the street.

Part of an 11.5 mile circular walk starting and finishing in Dartmouth including two ferry trips across the River Dart. An excellent walk that included riverside paths, woodlands, open fields and great views. Half way around, we came across Greenway, Agatha Christie's holiday home, and now part of the National Trust.
