I posted Sonya's view of this job at Dafter a year or more ago. Well my shot is virtually identical but he'll it is Thursday so here we go with 711, 2004 and 6628 leading OTIAC east on February 20, 2001.

still waiting on a stick being thrown for him lol

By summer 2001 WC GBSOA was a late afternoon/evening train through Trout Lake. That meant it was running out of the sun for the most part except where the track swung to a more north/south alignment neat Dafter. After riding roughly 300 miles a day at work I still had enough ambition to run the 40 miles over to Dafter in the evening if the sky was clear and the units were of interest. Late evening July 5, 2001 has GBSOA heading for a Soo yard meet with his westbound counterpart. 3027 and 588 roll along in the late day sun leading 57 cars.

Rockin' and Rollin' in the snow this morning.

One of my favorite 30's was SOO/WC 704. I spent a lot of miles on this one and also a fair amount of time in the right seat. She was a good puller and it was a big disappointment for me when WC chose to retire this one in the early 90's purge of most of the ex SOO 30's. Here she is leading LO-34 along with 6559 at Dafter on July 18, 1990. Hard for me to wrap my head around this being nearly 30 years ago.

WC's late afternoon/early evening train out of Soo yard was a great chase during the first few years of the new railroad, at least during about 8 months of the year with longer daylight hours. Number 34 heads for Gladstone at Dafter on July 24, 1992 with 586, 6508 and DMIR 170. Guess its been awhile since I posted an SDL.

Late evening WC train GBSOA heads east at Dafter with 2252, 6533 and 2060 leading 64 cars on 8-3-01.

It always makes me smile when I capture Tasku running with her eyes shut. 😀

Late afternoon WC train LO-34 has finished the climb away from the St. Marys river and now rolls along at 40mph through the undulating terrain of eastern upper Michigan at Dafter with 590, 4012 and 6584 leading 54 cars on April 7, 1994.

daft pose for a daft girl.

Still working on this set trying to get the colour balance better. I really dislike photographing red.

Had a good day today passed an accreditation test for my work so I can still do my job. not sure that is a good thing or bad thing. Just one more big test next month to pass. after that I am free for three years to cause havoc in the motor trade ha ha ha

On July 9, 1982 the morning fog had just burned off and SOO 770 and 2407 have just about topped out on the climb away from the St. Mary's River as they make there early morning appearance near Dafter. This days train 909 is relatively short at only 27 cars out of Soo Yard but by the time it has done its pick ups at Trout Lake, Caffey, Gulliver, Manistique, and Ensign it will be nudging a respectable 70 cars when it arrives at Gladstone.

Limited Daft Punk stickers

We saw a couple of mannequins wearing a daft punk-like helmet inside a clothing store at Bishop Ranch. Thought it was pretty cool. The lighting inside the store allowed me to shoot this without flash. I thought it turned out okay. Otherwise, my flash would have reflected from the window glass in front of me.

An epic picture I took at Brickworld 2015. I don't know who to give credit to, so if you know, tag them!

It's the lop sided, daft grin that inspired the title!
