Delaware and Raritan Canal, Lambertville, New Jersey
The canal's greatest usage occurred during the 1860s and 1870s, when it primarily transported coal from Pennsylvania to New York City, during the Industrial Revolution. By 1974, most of the canal system was declared a New Jersey state park. It remains one today, and is used for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. A graded natural-surface trail along the side of the canal, which was the tow path that mules used to tow barges on the canal before steam powered barges, is now used for hiking, jogging, bicycling, and horseback riding.

The Château d'Annecy is a restored castle which dominates the old French town of Annecy in the Haute-Savoie département. It was bought by the town, restored and transformed into a museum, le musée-château d'Annecy. The castle is listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
The castle was built between the 12th and 16th centuries. It served as the residence of the Counts of Geneva and the Dukes of Genevois-Nemours. Several times the victim of fires, the castle was abandoned in the 17th century and later repaired to serve as a barracks until 1947. The town of Annecy acquired the castle in 1953, restored it with the help of Monuments historiques and installed a museum there.
Since 1993, the Tower and the Logis Perrière have housed an observatory (l'Observatoire régional des lacs alpins). (Wikipedia)
This weeks Saturday Night Special is D&H 753 at Oneonta, NY on August 1, 1970. No photographer name on the slide mount. This was one of the 3 EL U33C's that the D&H got in a swap for the 3 SD45's. The units were swapped back prior to C-Day in 1976, so that the D&H eneded up with the 3 SD45's again.

Après avoir passée des jours sans prendre aucune photos (faute à mon divorce en cours et au temps pourri), je reprends un peu d'espoir et fais quelques clichés de Creamy.

On the return trip from spending Memorial Day weekend at Horseshoe Curve, we got to Hornell, NY as this Eastbound D&H train arrived for a crew change on May 29, 1978. We went down into the Canisteo Valley and I got a nice broadside of this consist, but I regretfully traded that slide to someone, so this backlit slide will have to do. I believe this was also the only time I caught the 7420 in RDG green colors.

Lake Orta (Italian: Lago d’Orta) is a lake in northern Italy, west of Lake Maggiore.
It has been so named since the 16th century, but was previously called Lago di San Giulio, after Saint Julius (4th century), the patron saint of the region. Its southern end is about 35 kilometers (22 miles) by rail to the northwest of the city of Novara (located on the main Turin-Milan line), while its northern end is about 6 kilometers (4 miles) by rail south of the Gravellona-Toce railway station, itself located halfway between Ornavasso and Omegna.
Its scenery is characteristically Italian, while San Giulio island has some picturesque buildings, and takes its name from the local saint, who lived in the 4th century.
Located around the lake are Orta San Giulio, built on a peninsula projecting from the east shore of the lake, Omegna at its northern extremity, Pettenasco to the east, and Pella to the west.
It is supposed that the lake is the remnant of a much larger sheet of water by which originally the waters of the Toce flowed south towards Novara. As the glaciers retreated the waters flowing from them diminished, and were gradually diverted into Lake Maggiore.

D had his 1 year shots almost 3 weeks ago now. He had the MMR and chicken pox shot.
So, of course, he is one of the few that actually developed the measels and chicken pox from the shots. :(
He is on the mend and looking much better this week! :)
I dug this out from a few weeks ago when we were at the park. He isn't feeling like getting his picture taken this week.
Poor little fella....
