Deepak Amembal or Magic Eye metroblogger Indiblogger has been my oldest contact on cyberspace , he introduced me to Flickr from Fotothing and I am on the verge of deleting my oldest account at Fotothing..

Deepak came home with Anjali and Manuela from Italy , to shoot my world my surroundings and this is my next storyboard , a photo walk to rustic old time Bandra of Bazar Road and Chapel road ending at Waroda road.

Manuela loves India , the people the culture and the pathos poetry of Amchi Mumbai..

I first took them to shoot the Bandra Bazar open garbage dump , this site has been internationalized by me , and will soon be the next big tourist attraction after the Mahalaxmi Dhobi Ghats ..

Deepak thoroughly enjoyed the walk and all three of them shot me and crowds were happy that Bandra Bazar is now a trending topic on cyberspace , Bandra Bazar home of the beggar poet, the 4 year old worlds youngest street photographer Marziya Shakir on a summer holiday..Bandra Bazar home to the leperlady Maria , the Umbrella lady, the crosses , the colorful Anarkali Bolywood wall .

This is one place dying to be shot, there were other foreigners too enjoying the filth the rancid stench of over ripe sweaty tomatoes ,the armpit like potholes , all adding to old time Bandra charm.

I must thank my silent wife who shot this picture on the Canon EOS 7D .. the camera at our house is a indigenous item of survival , it is a instrument of holistic healing and harbinger of eternal hope.

In telecommunications and cyberspace, we might think that we are speaking in private to friends or family, when in reality those communications could be accessed by anyone and may in fact be very public. Cyberpsychologists call that illusion of confidentiality "perceived privacy."

There was a aviaton photographer called John Yoxall (I think) who took many photographs like this in the 30s. And very nice they were too. Not having a biplane of my own this picture taken with Flight sim will have to do!

I took this back in October and it's been stuck in cyberspace. I'm glad I found it and gave it a home on Flckr.

My new telescope certainly has a terrific magnification. Hubble eat your heart out!!!

Acrylic, collage, gold and copper leaf, on canvas, 36x60" 2008

It reminds me of those heady days when life revolved around responses, that give and take when cyberspace initially supplanted human interaction, and we all threw ourselves in with such wanton abandon. Then that promiscuity evolved into Facebook and Instagram, and it all became just ‘too much’. Flickr is now like an echo chamber, though it had always something of that aspect. It feels somewhat unhealthy to be waiting for replies, but that’s true of emails too. Apparently, according to some article somewhere this morning, youth has moved on from all of that, instant messages are now passée, responding to that “press of circumstances”, maybe.

Yes, perhaps we do learn with age, or learn at least to adapt to our mistakes, and yes, reflection is essential. It seems the world has become so judgmental of past errors that it might take great courage to face the ‘woke’ brigade and expose one’s own unprotected flanks. There are so many areas where one can trip up, like cultural appropriation, for instance. I am thinking somewhat about this when I start to appropriate my own copyright free past.

It is what I love about Chinese ‘copy’ culture. They historically copied great work from their own culture, like Qing copies of Ming masterworks. This was considered to be the greatest compliment; to copy something beautiful and move it forward. Soon the copies became as valuable as (and sometimes even more valuable than) the originals. We seem to have momentarily, perhaps hopefully (the idea of it being momentarily), lost that gift, that respecting of lineage. I would extend that to the beauty of mistakes and, possibly, learning from them, that panoply usually described as history.

Now with added, "Royalty Free" freckles, history proves itself to be infinitely malleable, perhaps. I might be discovering that Freckles might be used to mask a thousand 'sins', or a thousand possibilities, even.

i have been deserting the cyberspace lately. no blog, no tweets, no flickr.

i also have a bad relationship with cameras, lately.

i don't really care about pixels.

i want to TOUCH the things i do.

sewing this bag has been a big satisfaction for me.

it's my first bag ever.

ok, i could have done it better.

could have ironed the fabric before sewing.

could have blah blah yada yada.

anyhow i love it.

it's big, it has pockets, and keyhoders and solid straps.

and i am really fond of the tridimensional "embroidery"
