Ants play a huge part in seed dispersal. Leaf cutter ants do not just collect leaves, as the adults can receive nutrition from other organic materials. The seeds are taken into the colony's nest, where it has a very high chance of germinating. The ants dispose of the seed in to their midden, which is full of other organic material; helping the seed to germinate.
