A quad set of BIGs head across the series of lakes, ponds, and marshes that skirt the track near Gouldsboro. They are on their way back to Scranton after a busy day of working customers on the Pocono Mountain main line. Thanks to my friend G Don Marson for getting me in here, and I believe Brian Plant of Grundy Tours guided him prior to this.

An orangutan child stays with her mother until about 8 years old, but the uran’s mother died when she was 4 years old, so the keeper took the place of her mother. I like to play with petite, but I am adult at age.
Uran loves making hammocks with cloth and observing customers.She is very good at hanging out with just one foot or hanging with one finger.
Please give a gentle voice when your eyes meet uran.

The crew of Compagnie du chemin de fer Lanaudière makes some moves at a grain customer, in Saint-Felix-de-Valious, on 3/13/2025. After delaying the run for several days, on account of QGRY's St-Gabriel Branch having several crossings which were iced over, the CFL crew prepares to head south for the interchange at Joliette.
CFL is owned by Bell Gaz, a heating fuel supplier that operates in various parts of Quebec. The railroad operates around 10.5 miles of the former CP St-Gabriel Subdivision to serve Bell Gaz's LPG terminal in Saint-Felix. In addition to the fuel traffic, the railroad also serves some agricultural customers and a plastics manufacturer.
As for the power on this trip, former CN S-13, 114. The 114 was built originally as CN 8620 in 1959. Like other S-13's, it was later rebuilt and renumbered, before finishing its service life working various yards around the CN system, mated with a slug hence the additional cables on the front of the unit. Today the 113 sports the Bell Gaz company colors, while the 114 is now mainly used as the back up unit. Former NBEC RS18u-3 3000 is the primary power, however on this visit the 3000 was down, while one of its trucks was being rebuilt offsite.
Like all of the other MLW operators in Quebec, CFL's small but dedicated workforce keeps these ancient locomotives running, well into the 21st century.

Op 3 september 2021 kon ik te Großkorbetha de 482 012 fotograferen die net met een ketelwagentrein aan kwam.
ChemOil Logistics AG was founded in 1999 as a subsidiary of SBB Cargo. The company is part of a European logistics network and mainly provides services for customers in the chemical and petroleum sectors. On September 3rd 2021 I was able to spot engine 482 012 which was arriving in Großkorbetha with a tank car train.
There were a few WC units lettered for different things over the years. 7551, 3012 and CR 3312 lead GBSOA at Gilchrist on January 31, 1999. The run through CR GP40(or any other run through power) wasn't common east of Gladstone. The little trees that had recently been planted in this location are probably 25 feet tall now and this location that I'd shot from 1975 through the WC era is now grown in, not that your likely to see a morning eastbound here anyway nowadays.
We have two lovely families of Australian Magpies in our street who live in and around our park. They have been here the eight years we have, probably much longer. Spring always brings a new brood.
We never miss stopping to talk to them so they know us well. Unusually today, a pair of them came and had some seeds with the Galahs and were even tolerated fairly well given they are more apt to fly through and scatter the Galahs. They stayed for quite a while.
Bird seed is not their normal food, most of the time they spend hunting bugs and worms etc in the grass in the park. Yesterday we saw one dive into the grass and catch a big fat white grub. Yum!
We love them dearly.

The Brighton Eye
Brighton used to have a Brighton Eye the same as this one but it had to go when Brighton and Hove City Council agreed a deal with British Airways to build the i360 on the site of the old West Pier. The attraction cost £46 million, with £36 million being funded by a Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) loan through B&H City Council.
Formerly known as the "Brighton i360", the project aimed to attract up to 800,000 paying customers every year. The owner of the site, the West Pier Trust, hoped in 2014 that a successful i360 would lead to the rebuilding of the historic West Pier.
In June 2018, disappointing visitor numbers forced the owners to ask B&H City Council and the LEP for better loan repayment terms. The local paper reported that "in the first full year, from August 2016, the i360 had just over 500,000 visitors, significantly fewer than the 800,000 predicted." The shortfall in visitors was blamed on “poor weather and the unreliable train service to and from London”.
The i360 made a loss of more than £5 million last year, the latest financial reports have revealed. B&H City Council are now owed almost £48 million as the attraction suffered another successive year in the red.
With NP #3617 on my mind, I went back and revisited one of my absolute favorite sets of photos, taken back in 2014. I didn't visit the SCRY much, as the hour and a half drive seemed a lot of effort, never mind that today I drive 5 hours without hesitation. Regardless, on this day I headed down and managed to catch both sets of power paired up; GP9's 1363/1352 and faux SD45's 1326/1325. I got some good shots, although the line is unfortunately pretty bland. Once the power got parked is where the day really took off. Shooting some rosters and whatnot, we noticed the crew was headed back out with buckets and hose! As we watched the crew scrubbing the engines, one of the most shortline things ever happened. The crew called over and said "If you're gonna take pictures, you can come help!". Rob headed over and manned the hose for the crew. It was so cool to see these immaculate units in their oh-so-close Northern Pacific livery, and to see guys out making sure their equipment stayed looking good was awesome to see. With the SCRY sounding as if they are just hanging on with customer closures, lets take a look back at a better time.
The Iowa Traction is running around Mason City on a very cold day. The crew has just grabbed 20 empties from the CP and is now heading for the AGP plant to get them switched. The crew just got done delivering 4 loads to the UP to my right. The catch and grab game goes on with 2 crews and trolleys to push and pull their way thru the day to spot customers.

I was passing what was apparently a candle shop when I noticed customers asking the merchants to pose for an iphone photo....I shot through the front window rather than going into the shop.
What's wrong with this photo? 20 cylinder locomotives? pulpwood, with double stacks? "Customer Minded Employees" spelled out on the long hood, what?
The WC era was fading away like the logo on the nose of 7551 20 years ago on this day but evidence was still everywhere. The gondola of logs was picked up off the siding at Somerset taking its place ahead of the stacks. It's a fitting example of how WC would seek out what ever traffic there was to be had along their routes. January 5, 2002.
