Salerno is a city and comune in Campania (south-western Italy) and is the capital of the province of the same name. It is located on the Gulf of Salerno on the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Salerno is the main town close to the Amalfi Coast, and is mostly known for its Schola Medica Salernitana, the first medical school in the world. In the 16th century, under the Sanseverino family, among the most powerful feudal lords in Southern Italy, the city became a great centre of learning, culture and the arts, and the family hired several of the greatest intellectuals of the time. Later, in 1694, the city was struck by several catastrophic earthquakes and plagues and afterwards a period of Spanish rule which would last until the 18th century. After that, Salerno became part of the Parthenopean Republic and saw a period of Napoleonic rule.
In recent history the city hosted the King of Italy, who moved from Rome in 1943 after Italy negotiated a peace with the Allies in World War II. A brief so-called "government of the South" was then established in the town, that became the "capital" of Italy for some months. Some of the Allied landings during Operation Avalanche (the invasion of Italy) occurred near Salerno. For mor info see:

Biker Culture. This picture was taken at Cathedral of the Pines at the annual Blessing of the Bikes. To me, it combines two aspects of Biker Culture, Tough Guy Leather and Spirituality. I just really like this image.

A young boy performs a Honduran Cultural Dance (I forgot what it was called, fail). To cap the week of missions, they organized a culture show and dance party for us and the other schools! The show was great, didn't take too many pictures since I wanted to watch. There were some surprise acts that were unforgettable too. The party afterwards was a lot fun too!
Chaco Canyon was a major center of Puebloan culture between 900 and 1150 and was part of the ancient Anasazi civilization. The Chacoan sites are part of the homeland of Pueblo Indian peoples of New Mexico, the Hopi Indians of Arizona, and the Navajo Indians of the Southwest.
Along the Casa Rinconada Community Trail
Chaco Culture National Historical Park is located in a rugged canyon in northwestern New Mexico. For around 500 years it was the center of Ancestral Puebloan culture and trade. Massive pueblo structures were built, and over 400 miles of roads connected Chaco Canyon with outlying communities. The peoples eventually moved on, and the ruined remains of many of these pueblos are preserved by the National Park Service.
