Hong Kong Transport - Buses | All types
The Hong Kong Bus Culture
The number of buses registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 18,000 - 22,000 vehicles and presumably new buses registered are offset by old buses being retired or sold over the border in China. (Source - The Transport Department, Hong Kong Government)
Bus services in Hong Kong have to be amongst the best of all major cities in the World.
All major Hong Kong Bus Companies invest heavily and are using mainly brand new double decker buses and all of them are testing and introducing single and double decker 100% electric buses and also hydrogen powered buses for future use.

☛All Major Franchised Public Minibus Services (PLB) seating 16 or 19 people
Franchised and Non Franchised Public Light Bus Red Top ✚ Franchised Public Light Bus Green Top
☛Privately Owned Buses
Toyota seems to be the preferred brand for privately owned small and medium sized buses and are used for the following purposes
Public and Private Rehab Buses ✚ Commercial Building Buses ✚ Resident Services Buses ✚ Travel and Tour Buses ✚ Contract Hire ✚ School Buses ✚ Hotel Buses ✚ Misc. Buses for any type of charter | hire too numerous to mention including cross border buses.
One of the largest privately owned companies is Kwoon Chung Bus Company who also offer Non Franchised and Franchised Bus Services through it‛s subsidiary New Lantao Bus
☛Many Hong Kong Government Departments have a fleet of buses but for some reason also contract hire from Private Bus Companies on an “as needed” basis.
Any Government OWNED and operated vehicle in this section (such as Correctional Services Buses, Police Buses etc ) have a licence plate starting AM and any Chinese Military Vehicle has a licence plate starting ZG and naturally some of these vehicles have personalized licence plates which they buy at Government Auction!

One of the most anticipated events in one’s life is a wedding. You want it to be perfect, from the venue to the whole event itself, as it only happens once in your life. And if you are a groom wanting to look good on that day, you need to wear something that will exude and define your look with a formal suit. In that regard, the Barong Tagalog is the popular option among all the many clothes for men. It basically honors Filipino culture, especially in a multicultural wedding. barongsrus.com/product-category/men/ivory-off-white-baron...
Built in 1456, Sayabouly’s oldest and one of its most beautiful temple houses a 7-meter-long reclining golden Buddha…the province’s largest. Located on a hilltop overlooking the Nam Houng River in Sayabouly District, the mural adorned Wat Sibounheuang attracts locals who come to ask for blessings before a trip and go to make merit upon their return. Also visible are the remains from the original temple. A Stupa on the grounds sits on a singkhone with four spirit ghosts-two small and two large-who are honest and strong. The village ghost also resides at Wat Sibounheuang, and each year in mid-March, the district’s three-day Boun Phavet (Ghost Festival) procession, held in remembrance of Phavet starts at the cemetery and ends with the burning of clothes and throwing them in the river.

The Hayward community immersed itself in the culture of India in an afternoon of art, literature, food, music and dance, at the Hayward Main Library’s “Experience India” event Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2010. This free event featured appearances by artist and poet Salma Arastu, Bay Area author Suruchi Mohan, and classical Indian dancer Priya Banerjee. Food was provided by Favorite Indian Restaurant of Hayward.
The day’s events occurred in three parts. Salma Arastu launched the series with a discussion of her book The Lyrical Line: All Embracing and Flowing, featuring her artwork and poetry from the last ten years. Arastu, who has painted for the last 30 years, focuses on images of peace, unity and spirituality.
Arastu was followed by Suruchi Mohan, who discussed her debut novel, Divine Music, which tells the story of a music student in Northern India, who has a love affair with an instructor that threatens to derail her success as a professional musician. Mohan, a native of India and an award-winning journalist, also holds a master’s degree in vocal music.
The afternoon ended with a dance performance by 17-year-old Priya Banerjee. Banerjee has been studying classical Indian dance since she was four years old. She graduated from the Shri Krupa Dance Foundation at nine and has performed in dance festivals all over the world.
In addition to this special event, the library offers other services for the Southeast Asian community, including a collection that holds over 650 Hindi DVDs, over 90 Hindi books, and many Indian music CDs.
“The Hayward Public Library offered 'Experience India' to highlight the talents of three exceptional Bay Area women, and to celebrate the culture and traditions of India,” said librarian Sally Thomas, one of the event organizers. “We hope this series of events will help us strengthen our ties to our local South Asian community.”
This event was sponsored by Friends of the Hayward Public Library; AAUW- Hayward/Castro Valley Branch and Favorite Indian Restaurant of Hayward.
