The above words from the footsoldiers of the Sangh Parivar in Gujarat captured in the spy camera of the Tehelka, exposes the cruelty and inhumanity with which innocent Muslim minorities were killed during the communal pogrom in 2002. The Tehelka expose has also confirmed what was always known, that the 2002 violence in Gujarat was a State-sponsored one. The Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his government were fully responsible for ti1is gross violation of human rights and subversion of the Constitution. This comes out clearly from the statements of the murderers of Gujarat themselves: ulf I didn't have Narendrabhai's support, we would not have been able to avenge Godhra...because the police was standing right in front of us, seeing all that was happe!ling, but they had shut their eyes and mouths ...We had good support from the police...because of Narendrabhai" .
The gut-wrenching revelations of the pre-planned and cold-blooded massacres of cl:l.ildren, women and men and the collusion of the Chief Minister, other Ministers of the BJP government as well as senior police officials in the mayhem which continued for three days in March 2002, is a reminder of the threat that communalism poses to the people of our country in general and minorities in particular. It is a matter of national shame that these communal killers of the RSS-VHP-Bajrang Dal, far from being prosecuted for these inhuman crimes are roaming scot-free, due to the immunity provided to them by the Narendra Modi government. The public prosecutors, who are supposed to argue against the offenders in court, have turned out to be RSS hacks, busy in sabotaging the cases by bribing and intimidating witnesses and "managing" the judiciary. One of the public prosecutors captured in the spy camera even said that among the judges heading the ongoing judicial probe into the Gujarat riots, Justice Nanavati is trying to make money while Justice Shah is favoura!Jiy disposed towards the rioters. All this raises fundamental questions regarding the fate of the riot cases and justice for the victims. .
The Supreme Court, which has taken upon itself the responsibility of passing judgements on everything under the sun, from how to tame monkeys in the National Capital to strikes and demonstrations by common people, should deeply introspect about the rot that has set in the criminal justice system in the country. Not only have communal riots continued to occJr in India posi-Gujarat, like in Mau or Mangalore, but the rioters are being encouraged to pe; petrate mindless violence because they know the ease with which the crimina; justice system can be manipulated. Since the Gujarat riot cases are pending with the Supreme Court, it is imperative that a suo motu cognizance is taken of the prima facie evidence provided through the Tehelka revelations and the guilty, from the Babu Bajrangis to Narendra Modi and all the culpable police and judicial officers, brought to book without further delay. .
The UPA government, which came to office with the mandate of upholding secularism and combating communalism, cannot remain as a silent spectator. It is sickening to find Congress leaders in Gujarat trying to downplay the Tehelka expose, for the fear of hurting majoritarian sentiments on the eve of the Gujarat assembly elections. The reason why Gujarat continues to remain as the hotbed of communal fascism in India, as was seen in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh or the attack on MS University students and teachers in Baroda, is because the Congress as the main opposition party has abandoned its commitment towards secularism and democracy. Narendra Modi cannot be defeated unless the people of Gujarat are mobilized on a firmly secular platfonn; pandering to soft-hindutva sentiments by accommodating BJP rebels and only talking about development issues forgetting about the Gujarat carnage of 2002 will not serve any purpose. The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, which is headed by Sonia Gandhi, had selected Gujarat as the ~best governed state in India" in January 2005. Such a distorted view about governance and development is also reflected in the UPA government's dilly-dallying over the implementation of the Sachar Committee recommendations and tabling of the Prevention of Communal Violence Bill in Parliament. The Congress leadership seems to have forgotten the severe punishment in successive elections following the shameful capitulation of Narasimha Rao during the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992. .
SFI-AISF appeals to the secular and democratic minded students of JNU, who had played a historic role in the aftermath of the Gujarat riots in 2002, by repeatedly hitting the streets in large numbers and contributing to the ISolation of the communal thugs of the RSS-BJP, to rise once again to lend active support to the cause of ensuring justice to the riot vict1ms of Gujarat and punishmg the culprits, including the modem day Hitler, Narendra Modi. The ABVP, which represents the communal politics of the RSS-VHP-Bajrang Dal in the campus and glorifies the likes of Narendra Modi, should be thoroughly isolated. It is also noteworthy that the ABVP candidate for the Joint Secretary post in these elections was r9cent1y made out of bounds from the Lohit Hostel for physically assaulting a student from the minority community. The Vice-Presidential candidate of the ABVP was also made out-of-bounds from Periyar Hostel earlier. for indulging in violence. It is clear that the ABVP-.JNU Unit has lived up to the reputation of their brethren in the San h Parivar. Such forces should be iven a fittin rebuff. .

Por culpa del señor de la izquierda (ese al que se le ve la hucha), perdí casi una tarde entera el otro día. Estaba yo estudiando y me di cuenta de lo tonto que puede llegar a ser el hombre, que por tal de no subirse un poco más en el andamio para subir una escalerita, casi se la tira encima (además se le cayó un cubo, un palo con el que pretendía moverla...)
