This gorgeous cuff was created for the EtsyBeadWeavers February Challenge “The Ocean”.
The centrepiece was created around a gorgeous Helen Breil One-of-a-Kind Focal Art Bead. The art bead, made from polymer clay, is a stunning turquoise/teal colour and embellished with a light bronze button.
The centrepiece is beadembroidered with light bronze Japanese seed beads which sits on a light bronze peyote stitched cuff. The peyote band covers a blank brass cuff base which is lined with dark turquoise/teal ultrasuede. The cuff fits all sizes. The cuff is c. 1 ¾” (c. 4.5 cm) wide. The centrepiece measures 1 ¾” (c. 4.5 cm) in diameter.

This gorgeous one-of-a-kind cuff was created around beautiful opal blue, tanzanite (violet) and lime square Swarovski cabochons and Swarovski crystals chatons. Bead embroidered with silver Czech seed beads, teal silver-lined Japanese seed beads and lustre turquoise Czech glass beads. The bead-embroidered centrepiece is attached to a silver genuine leather lined metal cuff.
The cuff is adjustable and measures 3 1/2" (c. 9 cm) at the widest point and is 7" (c. 18 cm) in length. It fits most sizes as the metal cuff can be adjusted to fit various sized wrists.
Another wrist cuff that will be gifted to another dear friend.
The folkloric fabric was a gift from the awesome Patricia (Zencrafting), the lining was bought in Paris, and the button (that you can't see) was a gift from the awesome Joanie. The elastic cord was salvaged. I only re-embroidered some of the birds' details.
I am really enjoying making wrist cuffs these days, can you tell ?! LOL And I have a last one to show, but after that my friend will have gotten it.

A little crocheted cuff for a jar - this one is finished with a ceramic heart button and looks very pretty with a tea light lit inside it.
Made with Rowan Hand Knit Cotton DK
...Im thinking about attaching some wire to this jar, to make a lantern with it for hanging...
And a salt crystal on my thumb. #MacroMondays possibility for #string.
This may be the closest macro of the lot!
(Btb it’s not easy being handheld, trying to focus and trying to shoot with your non-dominant hand!! Is there a neat little trick for iPhones that will snap the picture from a voice command?)
Jewellery was a big part of Elizabethan Tudor fashion, especially for those who were rich and important. It showed both their wealth and status. Jewellery was also used to convey political messages, display religious beliefs and to remind people of friends and relatives who have died. Jewellery in Tudor times was not widespread and is essentially worn by the upper classes and those who could afford such finery.
Tudor bracelets tended to be made out of silver or gold and decorated with precious stones. Strands of pearls could also be wrapped around the wrist. The Elizabethan cuff is reminiscent of bracelets of the era. A wide cuff - elaborate, luxurious and intricately woven. A central panel of bezelled large beads form a bold focal point to the cuff. Eminently suited to the delicate wrists of the Elizabethan Tudor lady of the upper classes.
This lovely elegant cuff is peyote stitched using Japanese brown metallic iris (closer to black than brown) seed beads and embellished with pearly-gold Czech fire-polished beads and light bronze seed beads. The centre square bead is mother-of-pearl. The peyote band covers a blank brass cuff base which is lined with ultrasuede. The cuff fits all sizes. The cuff is c. 1 ¼” (c. 3.5 cm) wide.
