Jewellery was a big part of Elizabethan Tudor fashion, especially for those who were rich and important. It showed both their wealth and status. Jewellery was also used to convey political messages, display religious beliefs and to remind people of friends and relatives who have died. Jewellery in Tudor times was not widespread and is essentially worn by the upper classes and those who could afford such finery.
Tudor bracelets tended to be made out of silver or gold and decorated with precious stones. Strands of pearls could also be wrapped around the wrist. The Elizabethan cuff is reminiscent of bracelets of the era. A wide cuff - elaborate, luxurious and intricately woven. A central panel of bezelled large beads form a bold focal point to the cuff. Eminently suited to the delicate wrists of the Elizabethan Tudor lady of the upper classes.
This gorgeous rich, elegant cuff was bead-embroidered around a beautiful Champagne-coloured Swarovski chaton using light bronze Japanese seed beads and cubes, Swarovski dark purple crystals and dark purple Swarovski pearls. The stunning centrepiece is attached to the purple Ultrasuede-covered brass cuff which is trimmed and embellished with the Japanese seed beads.
The centre piece measures 2 ½” by 2 ½” (c. 6.5 x 6.5 cm), the cuff itself measures 1 ¾” (c. 4.5 cm) wide and fits all sizes.
I like it when the decoration and the closing the same is. The pink vintage buttons are my purchase from etsy-seller: dollherup.

OK, in this case it is L before C! Some of the cuff-links I used to wear back in the day! So pleased I don't have to wear a collar and tie nowadays.
Our Daily Challenge - BEGINS WITH THE LETTER L.
The Warrior's Cuff is part of the Colors line. In this piece the color is achieved by painting alcohol ink over roller printed Sterling Silver. After sealing the color, it is then set beneath a Faceted Glass "stone". The cuff is made from Silver Plate and Sterling Silver. It's amazing how many times people have asked me what kind of stone that it is!

This cuff tells the story of the Beatles through their discography. Acid etched into Sterling Silver is all of the albums the Beatles produced ending with the last line of their last song: "and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make." Raised above the text are portraits of the fab four. The whole peice is oxidized with a brush/matt finish.
A Bouquet from Victorian Paris - Series
It took a young 18 year old scientist trying to come up with a drug for malaria in 1856 to stumble upon our first stable synthetic dye for purples, pinks and blues. I applaud you William H. Perkin and promise to name a piece of art in your honor.
You became all the rage in Victorian Paris, so much so they renamed your purple......"mauveine" after the French word for the purple mallow flower. I of course, cannot resist all things mauveine, as you can plainly see in this series of work.

This retro-inspired cuff was created around a gorgeous Golem Design Studio pear-shaped handmade stoneware pendant and is bead-embroidered using gold Japanese seed beads, black Czech seed beads and black Czech druk beads. The beadembroidery is attached to a coral red genuine leather covered cuff, lined on the inside with black Ultrasuede and trimmed with black Czech seed beads.
The bead-embroidered centrepiece measures around 2 ½” (c. 6.5 cm) in length and 2” (c. 5 cm) at the widest point – 1” (c. 2.5 cm) at the narrowest point. The cuff is 2 ½” (c. 6.5 cm) wide and fits all sizes.
These were my grand father's cuff links, I rarely wear shirts that require them and I have other cuff links so I never use these. I don't have any shirts with detachable collars either so I haven't used collar studs for over fifty years.
I made this cuff with the idea that it would be the centrepiece of the Bengal Tiger Suite. For this reason I lowered the "volume" of the necklace and upped the volume of the earrings along with the cuff. The "paw piece" as I call it has a double faceted East African oval citrine that weighs 38 carats. The observe side (top) is cut in mirror image to the reserve side (bottom) and the refraction in natural light is like a flame. There are 26 flawless brilliant cut diamonds around the "eye" like eye lashes and they weigh 2.80 carats in total weight. The cuff is made in white 18K gold and weighs in at 158.92 grams.
