I used a little photoshop to fill out the grain detail on this one.
The St. Louis Cemetery in New Orleans was one of the most interesting cemeteries I've been in. It's set up much like a town for the dead with the crypts being the houses. Concrete "streets" ran up and down the aisles between the burial sites.
This is a photograph of the Crypt in St Martins Inn Fields, near Trafalgar Square. The crypt below is actually a converted restaurant/cafe. Part of the crypt also has exhibitions from time to time. An intriguing place to visit.
Story written by Dean Hunter
Photo taken at Clifton Forge
Screams pierced the night time silence. A battle waged within one of the stone crypts in the cemetery where only the dead lay. However one wasn’t dead, and the other was just recently undead. How many times have you had your life saved by the rising sun? The battle continued, each side taking a beating and offering it back in force to the other. Yet as the sun rose, and the vampire was distracted by a stray beam of sunlight through the cracked wooden roof, did the stake finally enter it’s chest piercing the heart. The Hunter guided it in deeper and deeper as the Vampires body trashed and cripled to the floor. Lifeless, like it should have been. He left the stake in, as he pulled the gun and sent a silver bullet flying into the vampire's brain. No reaction, just a dead body.
He tore the remains of his shredded shirt off. Tired feet carried him over to an alter as he lowered himself to its steps. His breathing ragged as he stared at the vampire's body for a few moments. Green eyes slowly cast down as his hand clenched, swallowing back the physical and emotional pains he was feeling.
“I hope you can finally rest in peace, my friend.”
A perspective shot of the crypt gallery from my first walk around the Hauptfriedhof in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Sadly, many of the wonderful memorials in here have been badly vandalized. You'll probably see lots of photos from this great location in the next year or so. Again, many thanks to my contact Suzanne for being such a patient and understanding partner on my first Flickr walk in this great place.

Happy New Years Eve everybody! I'm so glad 2012 is over.
I kind of want to start a new series with my grim reaper type costume thing. This will be number 2 in the series. Number one is day 66's photo.
