I was curious about the sort of envelope looking apron the man was wearing. I did some reseach and discovered it has to do with the Cryptic Masons. Crystal Lake Cemetery was at one time the Masonic Cemetery in Corvallis, Oregon, USA
For the What's in the Background Group, there is a Civil War Memorial Statue that was placed at Crystal Lake Cemetery 100 years before this picture.

Hi!,
So I have been away for months, I was just waiting for some things to pass, such as my results, and now I'm going to share some stuff with you finally! yay!.
I could give you many other reasons for my delay, but quite frankly I'm not going to waste your time, and you deserve better from me :)
I know this is not that good but I wanted to put up an SOC (straight out of camera) shot, and this exactly that, excepttt the only edit is the use of burn tool at the bottom dark area, and the small watermark.

Worcester Cathedral is a magnificent sight as it rises majestically above the River Severn. Worcester has been the seat of a bishopric since the Seventh Century, and the Cathedral was served by monks until the Reformation. St Oswald and St Wulfstan were among the bishops.
This crossword was another contribution to the magazine. I didn't receive a single entry for the competition.
I'll admit the cryptic nature isn't that straight forward, but makes sense inside my mind. For example:
1 Across: "Favoured grain of Daoist founder? Keep taking the tablets (5)". The answer is PILAF (tablets=pills, pilaf also prononounced pilau as in the of Laozi....
Or
6 Down: "With Welsh trimmings. Oh blessed! (6)" The answer is CUMBRIAN. Cum=with, (the actor Brian) Blessed.
The poor response ensured I have never bothered compiling another crossword in my life.

A very cryptic decorated crab in the shallows. About 12cm in width and looking like some dead algae debris.
Beautiful bird, well coloured & marked - sadly I fluffed the images - all blurred other than this one.
This is looking at the cryptic underwings of a Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta) butterfly "puddling" - taking moisture - from dry oak leaves in our canyon. There is moisture under the dry surface of the leaves, and you can see the butterfly's proboscis disappearing down between the leaves to find it. I have a recent photo of the brilliant upper wings here. I see these butterflies on sunny days in winter, though I don't always get a photo. (San Marcos Pass, 28 December 2016)
The woods are starting to feel dry, though there is still moisture in the ground. We have an 80% chance of more rain tomorrow night, and there is a chance of another, colder storm this weekend. Bring it on!

However we’ve arrived here—here we are,
Composed of matter from a distant star,
Assembled by some universal laws
To wonder, of ourselves and all, our cause.
How did we come about, and for what reason,
And why are we so full of flaws and treason,
Unfaithful to ourselves and cruel to others,
Though knowing in our souls we are all brothers?
