Experimenting with nighttime photography again. This time, playing around with "Light Writing" using well known phrases.
Was looking through my old photos and this cropped up (sorry really bad pun), I did a little editing and really liked the result.
This photo was taken just outside Cowra on the way to the Japanese Gardens. I love the pattern in the field I think it is Wheat or Hay crop.

Back on the Mississippi Greenway. Now both Prairie du Rocher and Kimswick are working with the nozel.
Generally...it seems clear to me & I do try to get it right with the camera so I don't sacrifice pixels. But sometimes, I might have the wrong lens, or can't get close enough, or whatever, so I'll explore cropping options once I get my photo into photoshop. Even then, usually it's clear to me, but not always.
I think I like this cropping & composition best overall, but there's something about those old brooms in the original shot that I really like, especially after I ran the Urban Acid action on this image.
Maybe all three options are fine? I dunno! Or maybe all three are bad?
I just really like all the various textures in this shot & felt the acidic affect lent itself well to this one. This version large.

I tried to crop this image and manipulated it a little so the flower stands out a little better. Please leave your comments and tell me your thoughts. To see the original, click here
Cropped from the original.
Found this guy high up a huge tree, more than 15m above the ground. He eventually climbed up to the branch on top and just basked.
This is a crop from two shots one with each lens of the crane by Jury's Inn from the previous scene. The 300mm frame is scaled 200%.
For all these comparisons I used the exact same settings in Camera Raw to process each RAW - no differences. To be as fair as possible the 300mm was stopped down to f8.
I think it's pretty close here - with maybe a slight advantage to the DO. But is that just better contrast?
