The summer of 2018 was a very dry time for much of Britain. As a result, crop marks appeared marking where buildings had previously stood.

These crop marks at Ankerwycke most likely indicate the site of changing rooms connected with a boathouse..

low resolution crop of the other image, make up your own mind regarding composition :)

Entered in Texas Intercollegiate Press Association's 2-man photo essay 2009, won honorable mention. The topic was "The Big City," and I shared the award with another photographer. I chose to shoot a homeless man because homelessness is a rampant social issue in big cities.

The original photo was color, but after suggestions by some flickrites I changed it to B&W and cropped out some of the foreground because it was distracting.

The original can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/27920778@N05/3525194372/

I cropped and tonemapped the orignal image just to see how it would turn out. Not too bad actually.

Image: May 5 2017

Description: This field was drilled late Sept/early Oct with Fixation Balansa, Dixie Crimson, Vallana Hairy Vetch. Oats, peas, and rape were drilled March 10-12, 2017 on partially frozen ground. 1000 acres were done this way. By midnight the ground would get too hard, so waited until next day to begin again.

Here's a 1-1 crop of the next image on my photostream. Taken as a raw file and processed in Lightroom, with some sharpening added, the detail at f/2 is very impressive. ISO200 1/80th.

Must sort my eyebrows out.

These "crop circles" created by the formation of the sprinkler systems have always facinated me...
