Crop Duster Crop Dusting a field at Sisloff Junction, Ms. I spotted this crop duster while visiting the CN Yazoo Sub in Mississippi & since it was so close I decided to get some shots of it, this killed the boredom of when there wasn't a train running

Ma perché no ? :-) ogni tanto un "crop" ci sta bene, specialmente quando la Risoluzione offerta dal Micro Nikkor 85mm. ED IF VR IIsi rivela a dire poco *pazzesca* . Buona Visione.

Where I live now (the urban north-west of England!) is mainly grain crops and vegetables with little or no animal farming. Amazing these days how quickly grain crops, such as the barley here, develop from germination to be ready for harvest.

A working man collecting paddy from field in Bangladesh. Its a hot afternoon, and has to collect crop as much as he can before dusk. Parrots from the hills behind come in the evening and raid the crop fields.

I just liked the colours and tones...

This is a cropped shot from an earlier image I put up from my trip to Kent

Crops and re-edits of some of the better shots.

Sunday was a wet and dreary day but I had some free time so went to the wildlife refuge. I had seen lots of pics of a coyote on Flickr taken by my other contacts recently so wasn't surprised when I saw "Sally" as she's been named by others.

Unfortunately, by the time I drove to her location she had moved off a bit so these are cropped a lot and the light was poor.

Anyway....Sally was happily catching/ eating voles [ rodents] when suddenly she looked up and saw another coyote heading her way.

Hmmmm......by her body language, I could tell she was not wanting to "share" her spot. So, I was concerned as coyote #2 headed directly to her.

Well, no problem. Coyote #2 became completely submissive when s/he reached "Sally" and did everything he could to not upset her. It was pure joy to watch.

Eventually, they trotted off together.....too far for my camera/lens to see.

This thing was a lot more work than it looks even though I used Hitman's parts.

Credit to Hitman for the grip, scope, and flash hider. You're a life saver pal. Also credit to Xanatos for the workspace.

Also minor credit to Iron Maiden for keeping me sane during this.

This thing has over 8,000 lines of code so I had to find an alternate paste site.

Khao Chi Chan, or as it is more commonly known, Buddha Mountain has become an iconic landmark in Pattaya and a popular tourist attraction. The giant golden Buddha carved into the face of a mountain cliff is set among a beautiful and tranquil park.

A short walk along paved paths brings you to the base of the mountain to appreciate the gigantic scale of the carving. There is a small lake at the foot of the mountain filled with lilies and lotus flowers.

The mountain was originally mined for U.S. Army and Air Force projects at the local Utapao Airport during the Vietnam War. The mining continued for several years after the Americans departed, eventually leaving the sheer face of the mountain seen today.

In 1995 the idea to carve a giant Buddha on the side of the mountain was hatched by Somdet Phra Yannasangwon the supreme patriarch of Thailand (head of the monastic order) at the time.

In 1996 construction began on the carving. It was designed by computer before being laser etched into the mountain. After the Buddha image was filled in with gold leaf, a project that took several more months to complete.

The buddha was finished in time to celebrate the golden jubilee (50th anniversary) of King Bhumibol’s ascension to the throne of Thailand.

The Khao Chi Chan 109 Metre tall image was designed in Sukhothai style and depicts a seated Buddha with hand on knee.

But where did it come from?! ;)
