The Nant Crew is a lively stream that trickles down from the mountains, goes underneath the A470 and into Cantref Reservoir in the Brecon Beacons.

D1062 'Western Courier' is on the centre road at Bristol Temple Meads on 2 March 1974. The actual working is not recorded, although 1A45 suggests Penzance to Paddington; did it come this way?

D1062 was withdrawn less than six months later at a mere 11 years old, but was later to become the first of the class to be preserved and is currently active on the Severn Valley Railway.

A recently refurbished 45060 'Sherwood Forester' has arrived at Birmingham New Street. Waiting to take over the new crew are standing near the cab as the previous driver collects his belongings. On the platform a father and son lurk in the hope of cabbing the loco before it continues its inter-regional journey.

The loco was built at Crewe Works as D100, it entered traffic 08/05/1961. It was withdrawn 08/12/1985. It is preserved and owned by the Pioneer Diesel Group.

This and a number of other negatives were photographed with my Minolta Autocord 6cm x 6cm, they were taken on days when I was out with my wife. The films were stored separately from my railway files and are undated and unprinted. I suspect this was taken around 1980 as I went 6 x 4.5 later that year.

One of the most common civilian vehicles produced by Yugoslavia's Fabrika Automobila Priboj (FAP), the 2069 Serbo has been spotted in nearly every corner of the world. Originally designed as an affordable and highly adaptable 4x4 chassis for Yugoslav farmers and mountainfolk, the 2069 series gradually became Yugoslavia's frontrunner automobile due to its ease of maintenance, reliability, and general mobility.

Indeed, for the reasons listed above, the Serbo has come to be employed by all sorts of people: Bloody, reckless cartel bosses in Latin America; petty warlords in Central Asia running illegal mining operations; United Nations personnel seeking to keep the peace in the Sahel; and even Western special forces attempting to stifle the growth of terror organizations in Al Dabir. Although strange to see, it is not uncommon for images to emerge online depicting American operators cruising along in highly-modified 2069s. Given the ubiquity of the Serbo series in most developing states, finding trucks and spare parts for the cheap is quite easy. Again, Yugoslavia's emphasis on creating products for the average working person makes the vehicles both easy to maintain and modify. The Serbo has seen so much abuse by America's Special Operations Command that many crews have bestowed upon it the backronym UBER--Ugly But Extremely Rugged.

It would seem that despite Yugoslavia being a strategic competitor to the West and a revisionist power writ large, the Serbo's performance has earned the Socialist Republic a bit of soft power beyond its immediate sphere of influence in Southern and Eastern Europe. The industrial handlers stationed in Belgrade are more than overjoyed at this fact, especially since it means competing vehicles like the Nissan Rif are being forced from the limelight while the glory of Balkan socialism shines supreme.

There are so many people onboard that Shane has to keep sleeping in Dragon: he doesn’t have a crew quarter on International Space Station! Here he is shaving. We used our tablets in selfie camera mode as mirrors and thought we were smart... before we realised NASA and SpaceX had packed tiny real shaving mirrors in our hygiene kit in the capsule!

The captain and crew of the SS Dungeness out of Glasgow pose for a photograph in Irelands oldest city, Waterford! A nice cheerful group to start our week while outside the sun is shining and all is well with the world!

The general consensus is that the location and date here are very likely correct and as expected (the Waterford quays, perhaps opposite Ferrybank, in August 1910). Based on this the suggestion is that the captain was then Capt. John Henderson. Who perhaps moved on to another Clyde Shipping Co. vessel in late 1910 or early 1911. We like [https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnspooner]'s suggestion that this was somehow a "farewell" commission by or for the crew. Other interesting details and images of the vessel linked from the ever-interesting comments....

The SpaceX unveil event of Crew Dragon, the next generation spacecraft designed to carry astronauts to Earth orbit and beyond. The spacecraft will be capable of carrying up to seven crewmembers, landing propulsively almost anywhere on Earth, and refueling and flying again for rapid reusability. As a modern, 21st century manned spacecraft, Crew Dragon will revolutionize access to space.

We hit the ground running on the Space Station ! We’ve been here for 48 hours and the whole crew is full at work on research. This is what will be a frequent work location for me: the European Columbus laboratory, early in the morning with no one inside, and super busy with 3 experiments and 5 people inside today! Looks like rush hour metro in London. Exciting times for space research!!! As we are 11 on the International Space Station and there are only 6 sleeping stations (soon we will have 7), the departing crew is camping out. Yesterday Commander Shannon Walker handed over the keys to Aki Hoshide who is now the commander of the second part of Expedition 65. The departing crew wore matching shirts. Crew-1 picked blue, we’re more going with the black and orange kind of vibe… The 11 people up here required spacecraft to got here so for the first time, we have 2 SpaceX Crew Dragons docked to the Space Station at the same time, one on the forward docking port (ours), and one on the zenith docking port (Crew-1’s). The good thing is that from their windows, you get an absolutely beautiful view of our vehicle… but not vice-versa (our windows face downwards, toward Earth. Our capsule is more beautiful anyway (yes, there is a slight change in the paint job)

.

The Space Station is a huge shared volume for the entire crew (the equivalent of a Boeing747 - only with equipement everywhere), with only some small private spaces: our crew quarters. We sleep, call on the phone, send emails, and end up spending quite some time in them. We make them cosy with personal objects or pictures of friends and family, clothing, chocolate, hygiene and convenience items… it’s like a small private cabin on a ship… or a phone booth (for those who remember what they looked like).

After getting a fresh crew, CP 650 rolls under the B12 Signal Bridge with a pair of KCS units leading the way.

With Crew-1 to depart on Friday it was time to take a few pictures of everybody up here right now. As you can see it was not easy to fit 11 people into the frame, being in microgravity was helpful to stack everybody up, and the master Soichi had some great tips.
